한국 국악공연 포스터의 레이아웃 유형 분석 연구 -2017년~2020년 국립국악원 독주회를 중심으로- (A Study on the Layout Type Analysis of Posters for Korean Traditional Music Performances -focusing on the 2017~2020 National Gugak Center recital-)

초록

오늘날 국악공연은 빠르게 발전하고 대중화되어 가고 있다. 하지만 국악 포스터 디자인은 상대적으로다양성이 부족하고 국악공연 포스터에 대한 연구가 매우 제한적인 상황이다. 본 연구의 목적은 최근한국 국악공연 포스터 디자인의 레이아웃 현황을 살펴보고, 국악 포스터가 빠르고 효과적으로 관객에게 의미를 전달할 수 있는 정보 배치의 특징을 고찰하여 미래 국악공연 포스터 디자인에 필요한 기본방향을 제시하는 것이다. 연구방법은 레이아웃 경향 분석을 위하여 네 가지 주요 구성 원리(통일, 변화, 균형, 강조)을 중심으로 살펴보고 분석 결과를 다시 레이아웃 구성의 특징을 결정하는 주요한 요인으로서 세 가지 측면(요소 강조, 구도 분석, 여백 비율)으로 세분화 하여 그 특징을 분석하였다. 연구 범위는 2017년~2020년 국립국악원에서 공연된 147회의 독주회 공연 포스터 중에서 연도별로 가장 대표적인 레이아웃 디자인 포스터 1장씩을 선정하였다. 분석결과, 요소 강조 측면에서 사진은 일러스트레이션 보다 활용도가 더욱 높으며, 연주자의 이미지를 활용하여 관객의 주의를 환기시키는 것을알 수 있다. 구도 방식에서 대부분의 국악 포스터는 양면분할 구도 방식을 선택하며, 여백 비율의 측면에서 국악 포스터 디자인은 여백을 이용하여 포스터를 처리하는 레이아웃 유형이 매우 큰 비율을차지하였다. 본 연구는 3가지 측면에 분석을 통하여 첫 째, 요소를 강조한 측면은 화면 중심에 중요요소를 배치하는 방식으로 강한 주목성을 드러내는 것이 특징이다. 둘 째, 구도 방식의 분석에 따른양면분할 구도, 삼각 구도, 대각 구도를 많이 사용했지만 국악 포스터에 고정된 익숙함을 벗어난 다양한 레이아웃의 시도를 해 볼 수 있다. 세 째, 화면의 여백 비율에 따른 적절한 여백 활용은 화면의 창조성을 강화할 뿐만 아니라 화면 구성 요소를 더욱 적절히 조화시킬 수 있다. 공연 포스터는 다양한 구성원리를 활용하여 공연 정보를 빠르고 효과적으로 전달하는 것이 가장 핵심이라는 결론을 도출하였다.

영어초록

Today, traditional music performances are rapidly developing and becoming popular. However, the design of posters for Korean traditional music is relatively lacking, and research on posters for traditional music performances is very limited. The purpose of this study is to present the basic direction necessary for poster design for future Korean music performances by examining the layout status of recent poster designs for Korean traditional music performances, and by examining the characteristics of information arrangement that enables Korean traditional music posters to convey meaning to the audience quickly and effectively. For the layout trend analysis, the research method focuses on the four main compositional principles (unification, change, balance, emphasis), and the analysis results are again analyzed as the main factors that determine the characteristics of the layout composition in three aspects (element emphasis, composition analysis, margin ratio) and analyzed its characteristics. For the scope of the study, one of the most representative layout design posters for each year was selected from among the posters for the 147 recital performances performed at the National Gugak Center from 2017 to 2020. As a result of the analysis, it can be seen that in terms of element emphasis, photography is more useful than illustration, and it can be seen that the image of the performer is used to draw the attention of the audience. In the composition method, most of the Korean traditional music posters choose the double-sided composition method, and in terms of the margin ratio, the layout type that uses the blank space to process the poster took up a very large proportion in the design of the poster. It was concluded as follows. First, the aspect that emphasizes the element through analysis on three aspects of this study is characterized by a method of arranging important elements in the center of the screen to reveal strong attention. Second, two-sided split composition, triangular composition, and diagonal composition were used a lot according to the compositional analysis, but you can try various layouts beyond the familiarity fixed on traditional Korean music posters. Third, proper use of blank space according to the ratio of blank space on the screen not only enhances the creativity of the screen, but also harmonizes the screen elements more appropriately. The most important thing for the performance poster is to deliver performance information quickly and effectively by using various organizational principles.
