초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the historical significance of the General Congress of All-Korean Journalists in 1925. From what has been discussed above, We can state the following two points.
According to some studies the Congress was taken the lead by socialist journalists, who were affiliated with Tuesday Association. But our study shows it is far from the truth. There is enough evidence to show that the Congress led by the coalition of 4 journalists groups: Joseon Ilbo, Dong-A Ilbo, Cheondogio, socialist journalists. This coalition had gradually assumed a embryonic National United Front nature, striving for national independence.
During the Congress meeting there was a controversy in connection with several subjects. The mistake that several established researchers made was in thinking that the controversy erupted between nationalists and socialists. We therefore consider that this mistake should be amendable by the correct conclusion. An important point to emphasize is the fact that anti-Japanese newspaper repoters, conceiving a dislike to national reformism, entered into a dispute.
