공학인 대상 ‘공적 말하기’ 강의내용 개발 연구 (I) - <프레젠테이션과 토론>을 중심으로 - (Developing of Lecture Contents for Engineers (I) : with Special Reference to 《Presentation and Debate Skills》)

초록

In this paper, we have investigated the lecture case concerning《communication for engineers》of 6 universities as well as 6 representative manuals. First of all, in '(public) speaking' education for engineers, it is not easy to find out the standardized contents and teaching methods. Actually, most of lectures tend to be designed according to diverse major of professors and their discretion. Therefore, it is requested to establish newly the lecture contents reflecting needs of students, business employers as well as experts in related fields. Secondly, a case of lecture titled <Presentation and Debate Skills> in Pusan National University is suggested and we discussed the amelioration focused on the analytical result of 2 questionnaires. Though the class can be run differently from professors, we stressed it necessary to plan the class considering main aspects of engineering field and communicative properties of engineers.
Our next main phases of research are to run the class by applying PBL methods to <Presentation and Debate Skills> class and to develop various topics based on PBL. The previous studies proved that PBL could improve the communicative skills and competence of 'engineers' owing to the reduction of the anxiety in giving a presentation.
