이 논문은 청나라의 경학자 공광삼(孔廣森, 1752~1786)이 공양춘추경전통의(公羊春秋經傳通義)에서 “삼과구지(三科九旨)”에 대해 새롭게 해석한 내용과 그 사상적 함의를 고찰한다. 공광삼은 하휴(何休, 129~182), 동중서(董仲舒, B.C.179~B.C.104) 등의 해석 전통을 계승하는 한편, 독창적인 해석을 제시하여 “삼과(三科)”를 “천도(天道)”, “왕법(王法)”, “인정(人情)”으로 나누었으며, 이를 강(綱)으로 삼아 “시(時)·월(月)·일(日)”과 “기(譏)·폄(貶)·절(絕)” 및 “존(尊), 친(親), 현(賢)”이라는 아홉 가지 구체적인 지의(旨意)와 연결시켰다. 공광삼은춘추 경문의 세밀한 분석을 통해 “삼과구지”에 새로운 해석의 차원을부여했다. 그는 “천도(天道)”를 춘추가 기록한 시서(時序)의 예법적근거로 보고, 천명과 질서의 불가침성을 드러냈다. “왕법(王法)”은 덕행을 잃은 자의 행동을 비판하고, 군신(君臣) 간의 관계를 명확히 하여통치 질서의 정의(正義)를 유지하고자 하는 의도를 담고 있다. “인정(人情)”은 존비(尊卑)의 윤리와 가족애를 강조하며, 예제(禮製)와 인성(人性)의 조화를 중시했다. “인정(人情)” 측면에서 공광삼은 “친친(親 親)”과 “존존(尊尊)”을 중시하는데, 혈족 간의 정과 존비(尊卑)는 모두예법에 부합해야 하고, 인(仁)과 의(義)를 함께 고려해야 한다는 점을강조했다. 공광삼이 공양춘추경전통의에서 “삼과구지”에 대해 새롭게 해석한 것은 전통 공양학을 계승한 동시에 유가 의리(義理)에 대한그의 혁신적 발상을 나타내며, 춘추에 보다 풍부한 도덕적 교화와 정치 윤리적 함의를 부여한 것이다. 이러한 해석은 한대 공양학의 이론적정수를 융합했을 뿐만 아니라, 공광삼의 독특한 “경사합일(經史合一)” 사상을 반영하고 있다.

영어초록

This paper examines the new interpretation of the “Three Categories and Nine Principles” and its ideological implications presented by Kong Guangsen (1752–1786), a Confucian scholar of the Qing Dynasty, in his work The Comprehensive Meaning of the Gongyang Commentary on the Spring and Autumn Annals. Kong Guangsen followed the interpretive traditions of He Xiu (129–182) and Dong Zhongshan (179 B.C.–104 B.C.), while providing an original inter- pretation that divides the “Three Categories” into “Heavenly Principle,” “Royal Law,” and “Human Sentiment,” using these as frameworks to connect with nine specific principles, namely, “Time,” “Month,” “Day,” “Criticism,” “Demotion,” “Termination,” “Respect,” “Kinship,” and “Virtue.” Through a detailed analysis of the Spring and Autumn Annals, Kong Guangsen added a new interpretive dimension to the “Three Categories and Nine Principles.” He regarded the “Heavenly Principle” as the ritual basis for the re- cording of seasonal orders in the Annals, highlighting the inviolability of the heavenly mandate and order. “Royal Law” aimed to criticize those who lost their virtue and clarify the relationship between ruler and ministers, thereby maintaining the justice of governance. “Human Sentiment” emphasized the ethics of respect for hierarchy and familial love, focusing on the harmony between ritual norms and human nature. In this regard, Kong placed particular emphasis on the handling of “proximity of kin” and “respect for hierarchy,” emphasizing that both familial affection and social hierarchy must align with ritual propriety. He considered both benevolence and righteousness and as- serted that “proximity of kin” does not conflict with “respect for hierarchy.” Kong Guangsen’s reinterpretation of the “Three Categories and Nine Principles” in The Comprehensive Meaning of the Gongyang Commentary on the Spring and Autumn Annals not only inherited the traditional Gongyang studies but also showcased his innovative development of Confucian moral philosophy, en- riching the Annals with greater moral enlightenment and political ethical significance. This new interpretation integrates the theoretical essence of Han Dynasty Gongyang studies while reflecting Kong Guangsen’s unique concept of the “integration of classics and history.”
