藫庭 金鑢 「黃城俚曲」의 紀俗性 硏究 (A ethnographic study on 「Hwangseongrigok」by Damjeong Kim Ryeo)

초록

본고는 조선 후기의 소품체 작가로 명성을 떨친 金鑢가 연산지방의 인정세태와 풍속, 자연 경관을 詩化한 「黃城俚曲」이 紀俗樂府임을 밝히고, 이의 문학사적 의의를 살펴보아, 그의 문학세계의 이해의 폭을 높이는데 기여하였다.
「黃城俚曲」은 김려가 10년의 유배생활을 마치고 음직으로 충청도 連山縣의 현감으로 부임하여, 1817년 가을부터 1819년 봄까지 17개월 동안 근무하며 매일매일 일기를 쓰듯이 쓴 204수의 시로, 시의 제목과 쓴 날짜가 없고, 다만 매 시마다 각주를 달아 시의 내용을 보충하고 있다.
「黃城俚曲」의 대부분의 내용은 목민관인 현감으로서의 공무뿐만 아니라, 자신의 민중생활에 대한 현실적인 체험과 공유를 바탕으로 연산지방의 하층민에 대한 애정 어린 묘사, 연산지방의 풍속과 주위의 유적지에 대한 묘사, 연산지방의 자연지형, 특산물 등을 읊고 있다. 따라서 「黃城俚曲」은 연산지방의 인정세태와 풍물을 사실적으로 읊은 紀俗樂府라고 할 수 있다.
「黃城俚曲」의 문학사적 의의는 소재의 확장과 서민의식의 표출이라는 점에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 「黃城俚曲」은 김려 자신의 생활주변에서 잡다한 소재를 취하여 썼기 때문에, 溫柔敦厚를 지향하여 정감과 제재가 한정되어 있던 이전의 한시와는 달리 소재가 대폭적으로 확장된 다양한 모습을 보여주고 있다. 또한 그는 민중들이 살아가는 현장을 체험적 감각으로 생생하게 묘사하고 있는데, 이는 그가 서민사회에 접근하여 서민의 의식을 표출하려고 한 것이다. 이러한 점은 우리의 詩史에서 커다란 의의를 가지는 것이라 할 수 있다.

영어초록

This article contributed to further understanding of the literature world of Kim Kyeo by reviewing the meaning of his works from the perspective of literature history through the overview, characteristics and content analysis of ‘Hwanseongrigok’ which Kim Ryeo who was famous for ‘Sopumche(小品體)’ wrote describing people’s living, customs and natural beauty of scenery when he was appointed as Yeonsan Hyeongam.
「Hwangseongrigok」 is the Chinese Poem Collection containing 204 poems by Kim Ryeo who had lived at the end of 18th century and in the beginning of 19th century regarding his personal life, public business, people’s customs, natural beauty and various historical relics in Yeonsan while he was serving in the area for 17 months from fall of 1817 to spring of 1819, being appointed as Hyeongam of Yeonsan-hyeon in Chungcheon- do after finishing 10 years’ exile.
Although 「Hwangseongrigok」 is composed of 207 poems of ‘a quatrain with seven Chinese characters in each line’, the number of poems written purely in Yeonsan was 165 because 39 poems were written while he travelled Chungcheongbuk-do. Additionally, although it contains poems written everyday just like diary, the poems did not have title or date of the creation. The only thing that can explain the poem is the footnote to supplement the content of the poem.
The poems in 「Hwangseongrigok」 describe his everyday life as a public servant, public businesses that he did, practical experiences in people’s lives, affectionate description on lower class people in Yeonsan, customs and historical places, general sceneries around Yeonsan Public Office. Therefore, it can be said realistic Record of Customs showing the people’s life and customs of Yeonsan area.
The meaning of 「Hwangseongrigok」 from the perspective of literature history can be found in the expansion of subjects and expression of consciousness of ordinary people. The reason why he felt realistic description of the contemporary life has something to do with his ideology and his sense of literature.
As 「Hwangseongrigok」 was written using various personal subjects around Kim Ryeo, it expanded subjects to include diversity unlike previous Chinese Poems which had limited subjects as they oriented kindness and gentleness (溫柔敦厚). Considering that his poems showed people’s lives vividly with sense of realism, it could be interpreted that he tried to ordinary people’s society and to express their consciousness. It could be thought to be very meaningful in the history of literature.
