절대적 타자, 책임 그리고 새로운 주체성의 이해 ― 데리다의 Donner la mort를 중심으로 (The absolutely other, responsibility and understanding of new subjectivity ― around of Donner la mort by Derrida)

본 논문에서 필자는 절대적 타자에 열리는 주체의 다양한 해석을 파토츠카와 키에르케고르를 통해 살펴보았다. 파토츠카의 기독교에 대한 호의적인 수용과 해석은 절대적 타자와의 관계 속에서 자기희생을 감행하는 주체성을 드러내기에 충분했다. 하지만 파토츠카는 절대적 타자의 열림으로서의 윤리적 관계를 종교적 관점에서 한정해서 다루고 있다. 이런 윤리적 관계를 타자론적 입장에서 키에르케고르를 해석함으로써, 데리다는 자신의 논거를 좀 더 분명히 할 기회를 얻게 된다. 여기서 데리다는 절대적 타자와의 관계를 절대적 의무, 책임 그리고 비밀이라는 개념을 통해서 명료하게 설명한다. 앎으로 포착되지 않는 절대적 타자의 요구는 타자와 자아를 묶는 고리이다. 하지만 이 고리는 결코 개념이나 주제로 될 수 없으며, 언제나 비밀로 머물게 된다. 이런 비밀을 통해서 주체는 타자와 유일한 관계를 갖게 된다. 그런데 문제는 이런 책임의 형태가 결코 개념화될 수 없다는 것이다. 개념을 지속적으로 벗어나는 개념에 대한 해체론적 사유를 통해서 데리다는 기존의 방식과는 다르게 주체와 타자의 관계를 재정립하고자 한다.

영어초록

In this paper, I attempt to illuminate Derrida's concept of responsibility by examining the divers interpretations of the subjectivity opening to the absolutely other through Jan Patočka and Kierkegaard. The interpretation which Patočka propose about the christianism is sufficient to make clair the meaning of subjectivity accomplishing the self-sacrifice in the relation with the wholly other. However, in his interpretation, the ethics conceived in the relation with the absolutely other is limited in the sphere of religion, more precisely the christianism. But Derrida comments Kierkegaard's Fear and Trembling in order to reinterpret the ethics relation, based on the concept of alterity and restructure the kierkegaardian existentialism in the schema of the theory of alterity. When Derrida speaks of the absolutely other, this other means not only the God in the christianism, but all the other which could be different from the subject. Thus if Kierkegaard delimits the absolute obligation in the sphere of religion, Derrida extends the absolute obligation and the secret found in the religious relation to the ethical relation. Consequently this absolute obligation tie the ego with the absolute other, never embraced in the knowledge. In other words, this tie could not be converted neither in the concept, nor in the thema but rest secret. By this secret the subject enters in the unique relation with the other. But it is important to catch up the paradox which we confront in this relation. This paradox show the difficulty of expressing the singularity of the unique relation with the other because we couldn't speak of the concept de reponsibility without generalizing the unique relation with the absolutely other and contaminating the singularity of such other and this relation. In spite of the difficulty, Derrida attempts to show how the alterity comes into the sphere of the ego by the rupture of the Same. In effect we can confirm the possibility for the ego of being exposed to the other through the mouvement of the calling where the other, while he/she is inevitable dependant on the concept in order to be announced, avoids incessantly the concept.
