<삼공본풀이>의 운명과 문명, 그리고 공존 (The Fate, Civilization, and Coexistence of Samgongbonpuri)

초록

<삼공본풀이>의 여주인공(가믄장아기)은 전생신이라 하는데, 불교의 전생과 뜻이 통하고, 운명과 연관된다. 사건 전개의 가장 큰 발단은 ‘누구 덕에 먹고 사냐’는 질문에서 시작한다. 이에 대한 여주인공의 대답은 “자신의 음부 덕에 먹고 산다.”고 했다. 그 진의를 살피니 풍요의 여성성에 국한하지 않는다. 첫째, 자신의 능력으로 살고 있다고 당당하게 밝히는 여성으로서의 주체성이 있다. 둘째, 집에서 쫓겨나서도 운명에 굴복하지 않고, 새로운 삶을 찾는 진취성이 보인다. 셋째, 금을 발견하여 부를 얻는 지혜력이 보인다. 넷째, 자신을 쫓아낸 부모를 다시 만나 품어주는 포용력 등이 작용한다. 그래서 여주인공은 운명의 여신이 된다.
이 논문의 목차는 2장이 운명이고, 3장은 문명이고, 4장은 공존이다. 신화의 시대적 특성으로 살피면 중세, 고대, 원시의 역순으로 꾸며졌다. 스스로 운명을 개척하는 삶에 관한 것은 중세적 질서와 연관이 된다. 그리고 구근을 파서 먹는 삶에서 쌀밥을 먹는 삶으로 이동하고, 쇠를 중시하는 문명으로 이동하는 것은 고대국가 건설기의 질서와 연관된다. 마지막으로 배려와 공존의 삶은 원시공산사회의 질서와 연관된다.
2장의 주된 내용은 다음과 같다. 여주인공은 정해진 운명에 예속당하거나 수동적이지 않고, 능동적이고 적극적으로 운명을 바꾸어 나간다. 이것은 자신의 운명을 개척하는 자력신앙(自力信仰)이다. 우리 인생을 우리 스스로 바꿀 수 있다고 하는 메시지는 제주도 본풀이의 백미다.
3장은 여주인공의 행적이 고대문명의 전파과정이라고 보았다. 이것은 <삼성신화> 속 3여신과 같은 역할이라 하겠다. 고대문명의 요체는 농경과 비단과 염색과 철기 등이다. 여주인공의 행로에는 미개의 장소에 고대문명을 가지고 간 문화영웅으로서의 면모가 있다.
4장에서 다룬 삶의 내용은 다음과 같다. 본풀이의 첫 대목에서 동네사람들이 거지부부를 걷어 먹이는 장면이 있었다. 둘째 대목에서는 악인형 인물일지라도 자신이 이 세상 천지자연의 도움으로 살고 있다고 고백하는 장면이 있었다. 마지막 대목에서는 주인공이 부자가 되어 거지잔치를 연다. 주인공은 가난한 사람을 구제하는 책무를 저버리지 않는다. 우리는 소외계층을 배려하는 인간 공존의 정신, 인간과 자연이 공존하는 정신을 만나게 되었다. 지나친 경쟁과 사회적 양극화와 독식 구조의 현대사회가 다시 만나야 할 정신세계는 바로 ‘배려와 공존’의 가치일 것이다. 그래서 목차의 가장 뒤에 두고 그 의미를 강조하고자 했다.

영어초록

The heroine (GamunJangagi) of “Samgongbonpuri” is called Goddess of the previous life, which is related to the previous life of Buddhism and is related to fate. The biggest starting point for the development of the incident begins with the question of “Who makes you live by?” The heroine's answer to this was, “Thanks to her genitalia, she lives on.” Looking at its true intentions, it is not limited to the femininity of abundance. First, there was a subjectivity as a woman who proudly reveals that she was living in her ability. Second, even if she was kicked out of the house, she did not give in to fate and find a new life. Third, we could see her wisdom to find gold and gain wealth. Fourth, the ability to meet and embrace parents who expelled themselves again works. So the heroine becomes the goddess of fate.
Subject of the Chapter 2 is fate, subject of the Chapter 3 is civilization, and subject of the Chapter 4 is coexistence. Looking at the characteristics of the times of mythology, it was decorated in the reverse order of the Middle Ages, Ancient Ages, and Primaries. When it comes to a life that pioneers fate by itself, it is related to the medieval order. And moving from a bulb-eating life to a rice-eating life and an iron-oriented civilization is related to the order of the ancient national construction period. Finally, the life of consideration and coexistence is related to the order of primitive communal society.
The main contents of Chapter 2 are as follows. The heroine is not subordinate or passive to a set fate, but actively changes fate. This is a self-belief that pioneers one's destiny. The message that we can change our lives on our own is the highlight of Bonpuri in Jeju Island.
In Chapter 3, I saw that the heroine's actions were the propagation process of ancient civilization. This is the same role as the three goddesses in “Samsung Myth.” The essence of ancient civilization is agriculture, silk, dyeing, and ironware. The heroine's path has an aspect as a cultural hero who brought ancient civilization to an unknown place.
The contents of life covered in Chapter 4 are as follows. In the first part of Bonpuri, there was a scene where local people rolled up and fed the beggar couple. In the second part, there was a scene where even an evil person confessed that he was living with the help of heaven and nature in the world. In the last part, the heroine became rich and held a beggar party. The heroine did not abandon her responsibility to rescue the poor. We came to meet the spirit of human coexistence that cares for the underprivileged and the spirit of coexistence between humans and nature. In the modern society of excessive competition, social polarization, and monopoly structure, the mental world that must be met again will be the value of “consideration and coexistence.” So, I tried to emphasize the meaning of the table of contents at the back.
