『省齋集』의 출현과 高時彦의 생애 (The Appearance of Seongjaejip(省齋集) and the Life of Go Sieon(高時彦))

초록

高時彦은 『昭代風謠』의 편찬자로 알려져 있다. 『昭代風謠』가 여항문학의 시작을 알리는 중요한 저작이라는 사실 때문에 고시언 또한 주목을 받았다. 그의 문집 『省齋集』과 함께 『註疏箚疑』 2권이 있다는 기록이 있고, 그의 문집에 붙인 李德壽의 서문이 남아 있어 고시언 문집의 출현을 고대하게 만들었다. 그러나 지금까지 그의 저작이 제대로 알려진 적은 없었다. 당연히 그의 생애 또한 정확히 밝혀지지 않았다. 본 논문은 고시언의 생애와 교유 인물을 새롭게 정리하였다. 아울러 기록으로만 전하던 고시언의 문집 『省齋集』을 발굴하여 그 내용을 소개하였다. 그의 기타 저술과 편간 활동도 살펴보았다. 여항문학은 작가의 출현 ⤑ 개별 작가의 문집 간행 ⤑ 시선집의 편간 ⤑ 전기집 편찬의 단계를 거치면서 성장했다. 이러한 점에서 볼 때 고시언의 행적은 이후 여항문학이 지향한 모든 분야에 걸쳐 이정표를 만들었다고 할 수 있다. 많은 여항인들이 그의 손을 거쳐 후대에 이름을 전할 수 있었고, 『소대풍요』를 통해 수많은 작품들이 후대에 전해졌다. 그리고 그의 문집 『성재집』이 간행되어 전해짐으로써 그 자신의 진짜 모습을 볼 수 있게 되었다. 그의 행적은 스승인 홍세태를 따르고 있지만, 經傳의 연구에까지 자신의 관심 영역을 넓히고 있다는 점도 주목할 만하다. 『省齋集』의 출현은 고시언 개인의 실체를 확인할 수 있다는 점에서 중요할 뿐만이 아니라, 여항문학의 출발점을 확인할 수 있다는 점에서도 중요하다 할 것이다.

영어초록

This paper focused on the author’s group and studied the Autobiographical Literature of the late Joseon Dynasty. Thus, Descriptive features were discussed in the Autobiographical Literature of the middle class in the late Joseon Dynasty.
During the late Joseon Dynasty, the middle class developed economically and culturally to become a solid class. But the rise in status was limited by social institutions and customs and alienated from power. This environment has had an important impact on the middle class’ identification and self-consciousness. Their Autobiographical Literature was created in the process of establishing one’s identity and self-consciousness among the middle class. In the face of social contradictions, the writers of the middle class resolved their dissatisfaction and alienation by proving themselves the value of their existence through the creation of autobiography.
There are two main descriptive features of middle-class Autobiographical Literature. First, the representative form of Autobiographical Literature, the name of the Self-written epitaph(自撰墓誌銘), could not be confirmed, and the Autobiography(自傳) was favored. The middle class, who had no outstanding achievements throughout their lives, could change their narrative and preferred to create popular Autobiography(自傳). Because the name of the cemetery records official matters and values formalities. The second characteristic is that there are many works that show a new aspect in the way they are written and composed. Choi Kinam(崔奇男)’s Jolongjeon(拙翁傳) which clearly showed the transformation of the conscious world by using a fixed narration and time process description methods, Yoo Choijin(柳最鎭)’s Jaseonjeon(自序傳) who wrote his life directly from the first person point of view, and Kim Kyungcheon (金敬天)’s Sonwamanrokjaseo(巽窩謾錄自序) gives a detailed account of the lives of the middle class. Ma SeongLin(馬聖麟)’s PyeongseongUrakChongrok(平生憂樂總錄) deviated from the official description of the Self-Chronology(自撰年譜), he described both the joys and sorrows of the individual.
The Autobiographical Literature of the middle class, which is considered a vulnerable class during the Joseon Dynasty, shows that practical problems such as the status, political status, and economic situation of the creative entity have an important effect on the determination of the type or method of Autobiographical Literature .
