History is always written for remembering the past. The founders of the Choson Dynasty wrote and published the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 for the gentlemen of the Choson Dynasty to read and remember the Goryeo Dynasty. How would the founders of the Choson Dynasty like to remember the Goryeo Dynasty? They created and published the to make the foundation of Choson Dynasty be legitimate, so we can see that the power is an important factor in the process of writing and publishing the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』. With the obvious intention to get the political power, the founders of the Choson Dynasty wrote and published the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』, but there were many great difficulties in the process of description, because of the presence of the different opinions among the founders. The different opinions of the founders were based on their families' power, the power's relation and so on, so the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 could not be written until sixty years later from the foundation of the Choson Dynasty. The different opinions were embodied in the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 because of the 'Gijeanche(紀傳體)' mode adopted in the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 which was used in the medieval Asian history. As a result, in the 'Gijeanche' of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 there were many criticisms to the persons who lived in the Goryeo Dynasty. So many persons didn't like this kind of history book in which their ancestors were criticized. Finally, until early sixteenth century when the persons of the Goryeo Dynasty period all died, the 'Gijeanche' of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 could be read. However, we should realize that the publication of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 didn't mean that the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 got the authority of universal truth, so it is important to know how the gentlemen ruling the Choson Dynasty accepted the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』. As a fact, it is not easy to answer this question because there is not much historical material for us to study. So I have to find the new method which is to do the research on two genealogies of the Andong Kwun Sheng-hwa-bo and the Munhwa Lyu Ga-jeng-bo. The Sheng-hwa-bo of Andong Kwun was made in 1476 and the Ga-jeng-bo of Munhwa Lyu was made in 1565. As the difference of published period of the two genealogies, the contents were also different to each other. The writers of the Sheng-hwa-bo didn't accept the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』, because they didn't regard the contents of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 as the truth. They respected their ancestors who were criticized in the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』. The Ga-jeng-bo is different to the Sheng-hwa-bo. The writers of the Sheng-hwa-bo believed that the contents of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 were true, and they tried to conceal their ancestors who were regarded as traitors in the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 by its writer from a descendant. So we should pay attention to the function of the time for the accepting attitude to the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』. In 1476, the gentlemen of the Choson Dynasty didn't believe the contents of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』. While in 1565 the gentlemen regarded the contents of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 as the truth. The former didn't accept the contents of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』, because they experienced in the Goryeo Society. They could remember the period and they could determine the estimation of the writers of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』. But the latter didn't live in the Goryeo Society, they could only understand the society and the persons of the Goryeo Dynasty throughout the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』, so they could not despise the contents of the 『Goryeosa(高麗史)』 and looked it as a canon.
