불교계 노인복지 교육프로그램 운영과 발전방안 (Operation and Development Plan of the Education Programs for Welfare for the Aged in the Buddhist Community)

초록

한국사회가 이미 고령화 사회로 진입한 현 시점에서 노인복지는 우리 사회가 해결해야 할 중요한 현안이다. 불교계 역시 1990년대 이후부터 노인복지에 대한 관심을 가지기 시작했다. 당시에는 불교 이념적 측면에서 사회복지를 바라보는 이론적 연구가 많았지만, 현재는 실효성과 실제성에 바탕을 둔 불교복지로 방향이 전환되었다. 더해서 불교계는 그간의 승려복지와 교단의 노인복지시설 확충 등의 양적 팽창에서, 실제 수요자들이 질적 만족감을 높이기 위한 다양한 프로그램 개발에 중점을 두는 질적 성장을 위해 노력하고 있다.
본고는 불교계의 노인복지의 질적 수준을 향상시키기 위해, 실제 불교노인복지기관에서 진행되고 있는 프로그램들에 대한 만족도 조사를 실시했다. 연구대상은 서울시 G구 소재 불교노인복지시설 1개소의 만 60세 이상의 프로그램 참여자 195명을 편의표집했다. 편의표본추출을 활용해 시설이용자의 시설만족도, 교육프로그램 효과성, 희망 프로그램 등을 추출했다. 자료 분석방법은 SPSS를 활용한 빈도분석, 교차분석을 1차적으로 사용했다. 이후 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따라 프로그램 효과성에 유의한 차이가 있는지는 독립표본 t-test, 그리고 일원분산분석을 활용했다.

영어초록

Welfare for the aged is an important issue that our society has to solve at the present time when Korean society has already entered an aging society. The Buddhist community also started to have an interest in welfare for the aged since the 1990s. There were lots of theoretical studies that looked at the social welfare in terms of the ideology of Buddhism in those day, but the direction of studies has turned into the Buddhist welfare based on effectiveness and reality at present. In addition, the Buddhist community is striving for qualitative growth which focuses on developing a variety of program to enhance the qualitative satisfaction of actual demanders out of quantitative expansion of the augmentation of the monk welfare and the welfare facilities for the aged within the religious body, etc. during the period.
In this article , a satisfaction survey on the programs which are practically underway at the Buddhist welfare centers for the aged was conducted in order to enhance the qualitative level of the welfare for the aged in the Buddhist community. The subjects of the study with convenience sampling were 195 program participants aged 60 and over at one Buddhist welfare facility for the aged located in G-gu, Seoul City. Facility satisfaction degree of the facility users, education programs’ effectiveness and desired programs were extracted by using the convenience sampling. The primarily used data analysis methods were frequency analysis and cross tabulation analysis through SPSS. And then independent t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to determine whether there was a significant difference in the program effectiveness according to the general characteristics of the subjects.
