초록

In this thesis I classified the modes of the roof-end tiles with revolving figures of design which stressed dynamism to add revolving figures to all or part of the design elements. And then I proceed to the lineage, the process of formation and the cultural nature of the roof-end tiles with revolving figures of design in the general development of the roof-end tiles of Koguryo Dynasty.
The roof-end tiles with revolving figures of design in Koguryo Dynasty were newly appeared style as the honeysuckle roof-end tiles had adopted revolving figures. The honeysuckle roof-end tiles with revolving figures of design which appeared in Ji'an area were adopted actively in Pyungyang area. But in Pyungyang area, the roof-end tiles with revolving figures of design were diversified as the revolving figures of design were applied to many other roof-end tiles including honeysuckle design.
Like this, though the roof-end tiles with revolving figures of design were appeared in Ji'an area, it was in Pyungyang area that those were diversified and prevalent. From the fact, it can be concluded that in Ji'an area the developmental process of roof-end tiles was unilinear but in Pyungyang area multiglandular. As a result, the developmental process of roof-end tiles in Koguryo Dynasty was dualistic in it's regional composition.
Since the roof-end tiles with the composite design and the roof-end tiles with non-dividing lines had appeared after the transfer of the capital to Pyungyang in the middle of 5th century, this dualistic regional composition was accelerated. Especially, the roof-end tiles with the composite design were diversified as it adopted various designs.
In Pyungyang area, while cultural elements from Ji'an area were adopted actively, the diversification of the roof-end tiles with the composite design was accepted. Naturally, various roof-end tiles could be appeared on this cultural background. In conclusion, the roof-end tiles with revolving figures of design revealed the creativity of the roof-end tiles in Koguryo Dynasty.
