The main referenced article states the significance of arguing point forAkutakaw's relationship with Sigeko among other relationships. This studyaims to analyze Akutakaw's work which depicts his strong awareness forSigeko as well as the effects that this had on his death. In conclusion, thefollowing can be concluded: 1) Akutakawa's preference for women's physicalappearances. 2) In Akutakawa's A Fool's Life and Haguruma, Sigeko's imagescan be observed as they are portrayed through “the madman's daughter” in AFool's Life and “the goddess of revenge” in Haguruma. In A Fool's Life, herexistence of marriage and her extramarital affair were clearly transparent. Also,the portrayal of Sigeko as the “madman's daughter” having an unusual sexualorientation and paranoid characters leads her to be labeled as a crazy stalkerwho becomes an object of extreme hate. In Haguruma, Sigeko is portrayed asa character who is not able to hide her urge to strangle. Furthermore, throughdescribing specific situations, Akutakawa tries to prove that he is not theperson who impregnated her. 3) In Okamoto Kanoko's novel, Turuwa Yamiki,Sigeko's occupation is a poet, when in reality she is a woman who chases afterwell-know writers. 4) Pertaining to his death, Akutakawa suicide note indicatedthat his relationship with Sigeko was a crime; moreover, it clearly reveals themotive behind his suicide. As a result, Sigeko is known as “the woman offatality/destiny”.
