초록

In medieval Japan, unlike the previous era, the samurai, a warrior class, had been emerged to replace the nobility class. By that, medieval Japan had been faced a turbulent period. However, because of that, it could been integrated the cultures that have developed in each region and the perception of individual local people into one unified idea of Japan. Especially the eastern area of Japan, which had not taken the leading part of history until the previous era, became the center of the samurai class.
Considering that the history before the Middle Ages developed around Kyoto in the western area of Japan, it could be said that this was a time when meaningful situation was created for a turning point of history.
By these reason, though it is very important to know about initial samurai class, the study of medieval Samurai has not yet been sufficiently conducted. So the purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics and characteristics of samurai who played an active role as the central point of history at the time. Especially, focused on the difference in the aspect of the aspect between the Togoku and the Saigoku regions. Up to now, the prior researchers have focused only on the view of values of the individual who appeared in the works, or the view of values of the Samurai itself, which began to rised in the Middle Ages at that time. However, considering the subtle difference between the warriors appearing in various parts of the works and the fact that the warriors in the works regard background of their growth as important, the task of this study should not be neglected.
Through these observations, this study cites various scenes appearing in the "Heike Monogatari", through this, examines the differences in the view of local values of Samurai at that time in the Tougoku and the Saigoku are seen. This study was conducted because it is possible to clarify the way of thinking and behavior of Samurai appearing in the works by examining the local characteristics of Samurai that have not been studied so far. The most unique of them is the uniqueness of the difference between the warriors of the warring countries and the warriors of the warring countries. This analysis can be seen as an important point that can be observed only when analyzing the work from the viewpoint of the disclosure.
In this study, focused on the specific differences of each Samurai of the Tougoku and the Saigoku which the most unique traits all along the history that only appear in this period. The unique characteristic possessed by the Samurai of the Saigoku is that they emphasized refinement although living through turbulent age. On the other hand, what can be said about the characteristics of the Samurai of the Tougoku is that they compete inside the Kenji army which has made coalition. The purpose of this study is to examine what forms of these two characteristics are revealed in literary works and what reason formed these phenomenon.
