초록

1980년 이후에 WCC 산하의 CWME에서 발표한 6개 선교 선언문에 나타난 선교신학을 분석해 볼 때 이들 선언문들의 가장 근본적인 선교신학은 ‘하나님의 선교’이다. 이 선언문들은 ‘하나님의 선교’가 교회 선교의 근원이고 원천이라는 온건한 입장도 반영하고 있으나, 경제-사회적 구조 속에서의 정의를 실현하려는 세상의 과정에 교회가 참여해야 한다는 급진적인 입장을 훨씬 더 강조하고 있다. 이러한 ‘하나님의 선교’은 개인구원을 배제하지는 않으나, 주로 경제-사회적 구조의 변화를 통한 인간화를 추구하고 있다. 이와 함께 '하나님의 선교' 안에 기독론적인 성령론과 성령의 타종교 안에서의 활동을 인정하는 보편적 성령론의 입장이 있는데, 대부분의 문서들은 타종교에서의 성령의 활동을 인정하는 보편적 성령론으로 기울어지고 종교신학의 입장에서 타종교에서의 구원의 가능성을 열어놓고 있다. 그리고 이 문서들은 교회의 일치를 무너뜨린다는 점에서 개종주의를 반대하면서, 신학적 차이에 따른 전도의 가능성을 부정하고 있다. 그러므로 WCC는 1980년대 이후에 1960-70년대의 마르크스의 이론을 도입한 급진적인 인간화의 경향은 줄어들고 있으나, 개인전도보다는 사회구조 변화를 통한 인간화의 추구에서는 동일한 노선에 서 있고 타종교에서의 구원가능성의 개방에서는 훨씬 더 개방적인 방향으로 나가고 있어 심히 우려된다고 하겠다.

영어초록

When we analyse the theology of mission in the six statements on mission of WCC since 1980, it is based on the missio dei. There are two major trends in the theologies which refer to the missio dei. The first can be summerised as follows: God is in mission through the sending of the Son and the Holy Spirit to enable the church to witness in the world. The second trend was prominent in the study process on the missionary structure of the congregation and shaped the debate at the Uppsala Assembly. It affirms that God is active in the secular political and social events of the world, through people of good will, whether Christians, people of other religious convictions or atheists.
The first trend is faithfully reflected in the sentences in which the missio dei is the source and basis for the mission of the church in the statements on mission. But the more emphasis is set on the second trend in which missio dei's idea was fulfilled in the process of humanization realizing the economical-social justice.
In the theology of missio dei, there are the christological pneumatology and the universal pneumatology. In the christoligical pneumatology, the temptation to separate the presence of God or the Spirit from the Son of God, Jesus Christ, will be avoided clearly affirming that the Father and the Spirit are always and in all circumstances present and at work together with the Word, But the second affirmation, insists on the freedom of the Spirit, on its nurturing power to renew the face of the earth, and on the energies of the Spirit inspiring human beings in their universal longing for and seeking of truth, peace, and justice. Activities of the Spirit are beyond our expectation. This promotes a more inclusive understanding of God's presence and work in the whole world and among all people.. It affirms unequivocally that God the Holy Spirit has been at work in the life and traditions of peoples of living faiths. Furthermore, in "Religious Plurality and Christian Self-Understanding" the religious theology is accepted and the conclusion is that the salvation belongs to the God. The statements on mission of the WCC since 1980 is inclined to the universal pneumatology.
