3~5세기 낙동강이동지역 의기성 철모 연구 (A Study on the Ritual iron spearhead from eastern Area of Nakdong River in the 3rd and 5th centur)

초록

2세기 후엽 이후 낙동강 이동지역의 무덤에 부장된 철모 중에는 형태나 크기로 보아서 무기로서의 기능이 약화되거 나 상실된 것이 포함되어 있다. 이러한 철모는 부장양상으로 미루어 의기로서 기능했을 것으로 추정된다. 의기성 철모 는 형태에 관부돌출철모, 궐수부착철모, 판상철모로 나뉜다. 본고에서는 의기성 철모의 속성을 검토하여 시간적 변화 와 무덤에 부장되는 양상을 살펴 그 의미를 해석하고자 하였다. 의기성 철모들의 속성 검토 결과 시간에 따른 변화를 살폈고, 무덤의 형태와 와질토기, 도질토기 등의 토기편년을 통 하여 검증하였다. 그 결과 의기성 철모의 변화는 4기의 획기로 설명할 수 있다. I기는 2세기 후엽에서 3세기 전엽으, 낙 동강이동지역에서 관부돌출철모가 광범위하게 확인된다. Ⅱ기는 3세기 중엽에서 4세기 전엽으로, 관부돌출철모와 궐 수부착철모, 판상철모의 병존기로, 특히 궐수부착철모는 경주에 집중되어서 사로의 특징적인 의기라고 할 수 있다. Ⅲ 기는 4세기 중엽으로 관부돌출철모가 사라지고 궐수부착철모와 판상철모가 병존하지만 전반적으로 의기성 철모의 부 장은 감소된다. Ⅳ기는 5세기 이후로 판상철모 단독기로 경주보다는 경주 이외에 지역에 부장된다. 부장양상은 부장유형에 따라 6가지로 나뉘며, 특히 피장자 머리 위에 안치 방향과 직교하여 부장하는 것은 경주를 중심으로 한 사로의 특징적 부장유형이며, 수장급 무덤에서는 의기성 철모가 시상으로 사용되기도 한다. 이를 통해 부 장양상이 가지는 의미를 검토하였다. 그 결과, 의기성 철모는 사로단계에서는 피장자의 신분 및 지역 집단의 권위와 부를 과시하는 사회적 기능을 하였다 고 보았다. 그리고 시간에 따라 의기성 철모의 사회적 기능이 약화되고, 5세기 이후 판상철모는 지방의 일부 무덤에서 만 출토된다. 이러한 의기성 철모의 변화와 부장유형은 사로에서 고대왕권국가인 신라로의 성장과정과 대응되는 것으 로 해석하였다.

영어초록

Ritual iron spearheads are actifacts buried in tomb in the Nakdong River eastern area. In the 3rd century AD, they were made for ritual and burial rather than actual use. According to the ritual iron spearheads are form, it is classified into three kinds like the kwanbu protruding iron spearhead, the bracken pattern attach iron spearhead, the plate-shape iron spearhead. The characteristics of ritual iron spearheads were reviewed by type, and the time changes derived from them were assigned to the burial aspect to confirm regional differences. This study analyzed the meaning of the burial in the tomb in the eastern part of the Nakdong River. Consequently, the time change of the natural iron spears are 6 step of the Kwanbu protruding iron Spears, 4 step of the bracket pattern attached iron spearheads, 9 step of the plate shape Iron spearhead. These are set to 8 stages in total and the period is divided into four strokes. To verify this, the temporal changes of the tombs such as the shape of the tombs, the brick-clay pottery, and the ceramic-clay pottery were used centrally. In the first phase, Kwanbu protruding iron spearheads are widely distributed in the eastern part of the Nakdong River. In the second phase, all types of spearhead, such as he Kwanbu protruding iron spearhead, bracken pattern attached iron spearhaed, plate shape iron spearhead are buried. Especially, the bracken pattern attached iron spearhaed has the characteristic of a unique non-practice iron bars that are identified only in the Saro-guk. In the third period, Saro is transferred to Silla, the ritual iron spearheads is reduced, and the bean kwanbu protruding iron spearhead disappears. The fourth period is the time when Silla was formed, and only then the plate shap spearheads are buried. In order to understand the spatial characteristics of the ritual iron spearheads, the bury type was set up. There are six kinds of burials in the tomb form. Especially, the shape that is arranged across the main axis of the head is a characteristic of the character of the SaroGuk formed around Gyeongju. In the tomb of the head, the ritual iron spearheads were used as a floor facility and showed the hierarchy of the subject.
The ritual iron spearheads can be seen as having a social function of status and application in the process of transition from Saro to Silla. As the formation of Silla is completed and centralized, the head of the ritual iron spearheads disappears in the upper class, but in the provinces, it can still be seen as one of the objects that symbolize and show the authority and wealth of the group.
