예비유아교사의 교직관 수준에 따른 심리적 안녕감과 자아탄력성의 차이 (A study of pre-service early childhood teachers’ sense of psychological well-being and ego-resilience relative to the level of their view of teaching as a profession)

초록

본 연구는 예비유아교사의 교직관 수준에 따른 심리적 안녕감과 자아탄력성의 차이를 알아보며 예비유아교사의 교직관의 형성을 위한 연구 및 교육의 기초자료를 제공하는 것이 목적이다. 연구대상은 부산시의 2, 3년제 대학 3곳과 4년제 대학 2곳의 유아교육과 255명을 대상으로 하였으며 수집된 자료는 상관이 높은 종속변수를 측정하기 위해 각 변수의 결합된 차이를 밝힐 수 있는 MANOVA분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 예비유아교사의 심리적 안녕감 및 자아탄력성은 교직관이 높은 상집단과 중집단, 상집단과 하집단, 중집단과 하집단 간에 심리적 안녕감 및 자아탄력성은 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며 다변량 분석 결과, 예비유아교사의 교직관 수준에 따라 심리적 안녕감 및 자아탄력성의 전 하위요인에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 예비유아교사의 교직관은 심리적 안녕감과 자아탄력성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 변인이 되므로 유아교사 양성과정에서도 교직관 함양을 위해 심리적 안녕감과 자아탄력성을 증진시키는 교육과정이 필요하며 궁극적으로 교직관 또한 함께 향상될 수 있음을 시사한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of pre-service early childhood teachers’ view of teaching as a profession on their sense of psychological well-being and ego-resilience and to determine relationships among those three variables, ultimately providing basic information for further research and educational programs that would help pre-service early childhood teachers have a better view of teaching as a profession and for the development of a program that can improve teachers’ sense of psychological well-being and ego-resilience. The subjects of this study were 255 students in the Department of Early Childhood Education of a college located in B City With cooperation of professors in charge of teaching courses of the major in the department, the author explained the purpose of this study on Pre-service early childhood teachers showed differences in their sense of psychological well-being and ego-resilience according to the level of their view of teaching as a profession and directly conducted a survey between November and June 2014. A total 255 questionnaires were collected, and 255 were analyzed for this study except for the ones with no answers or omitted answers.
The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. 1) Pre-service early childhood teachers showed differences in their sense of psychological well-being and ego-resilience according to the level of their view of teaching as a profession. 2) The degree to which the sub-areas of those teachers’ sense of psychological well-being and ego-resilience differences were dependent on the level of their view of the teaching profession was investigated through MANOVA, in which interactions between those sub-areas were controlled. Findings here reveal that all the sub-areas had statistically significant differences according to the level of their view of teaching as a profession.. These results strongly suggest that courses aiming at improving teachers’ views on teaching as a profession are warranted and that a teacher’s sense of psychological well-being and ego-resilience should also be addressed as integral to any pre-service early childhood education training and education program.
