감사인 강제교체 기업의 가치관련성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Value Relevance of Mandatory Auditor Rotation Firm)

초록

감사인 강제교체제도는 회계제도 선진화 방안으로 우리나라에 처음 도입된 후 일정기간이 지난후 폐지되었다. 제도의 유지기간이 짧기에 해당 제도의 변화와 관련하여 아직까지는 다양하고 폭넓은 주제로 연구가 진행되지는 않았다.
본 연구는 감사인 강제교체 기업들이 갖는 주가와 회계정보간의 관련성에 관한 연구이다. 차기3월말 주가와 주당순자산(BV), 주당순이익(E)과의 가치관련성에 대한 본 연구의 결과에 의하면, 감사인 강제교체기업의 주당순자산(BV․mc)은 상대적으로 주가관련성이 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 반면 감사인 강제교체기업의 주당순이익(E․mc)은 주가와 지속적으로 높은 가치관련성을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과에 대해서 시장 별로 실제적으로 어떻게 받아들이고 있었는지에 관하여 추가분석을 시도하였다.
감사인을 강제교체한 기업의 구성이 KOSPI와 KOSDAQ 기업이 혼재해있어 구분하여 분석한 결과, 시장별 특성에 따라서 감사인 강제교체 기업의 가치관련성에 차이가 있었다. KOSPI 기업들보다 KOSDAQ 기업들의 가치관련성 설명력()이 낮았고, KOSPI 시장에서 감사인 강제교체기업의 주당순자산은 전체 표본과 같은 결과를 나타냈으나, KOSDAQ 시장에서의 강제교체기업과 주당순자산(BV․mc)의 상호교차항은 유의한 양(＋)의 가치관련성을 맺고 있음이 밝혀졌다. 이러한시장의 차이로 인하여 감사인 강제교체제도는 KOSPI 시장보다는 KOSDAQ 시장에서 가치관련성이 높아지는 것을 알 수 있었다.
본 연구에서는 강제적인 제도의 변화로 인하여 시장이 어떻게 반응하는지를 살펴보았다. 법률적제도로 도입된 강제교체 규정에 반응하는 시장의 변화를 세분화하여 살펴보았다는 것에 의의가 있다.

영어초록

The mandatory rotation system for auditors was abolished after a certain period of time after it was first introduced to Korea as an accounting system advancement measure. Since the period of maintenance of the system is short, the research has not been conducted on a wide variety of subjects related to the change of the system.
This study is a study on the relationship between stock price and accounting information of the mandatorily rotated companies on auditor. According to the results of this study on the value relevance between stock price at the end of March and net asset per share (BV) and earnings per share (E), net asset per share with mandatory rotation (BV․mc) could know that it was relatively low. On the other hand, the earnings per share (E․mc) of the compulsory substitute companies showed a high correlation with the share price. In addition, we tried to analyze how these results were actually received by the market.
As a result of analyzing the fact that the structure of the firms that forced the auditors to rotate the KOSPI and the KOSDAQ companies was different, there was a difference in the value relevance of the mandatory auditor rotation companies according to the characteristics of the market. KOSDAQ companies had lower value of explanatory power than KOSPI firms and KOSPI firms had the same net asset value as the sample of the forced rotation companies in the KOSPI market. However, in the KOSDAQ market, forced rotation companies net asset per share (BV․mc) has significant positive (＋) value relevance. As a result of these market differences, we find that the mandatory rotation system of auditors increases value relevance in the KOSDAQ market rather than the KOSPI market.
In this study, we examine how the market responds to changes in the system. It is significant that we looked at the changes in the market in response to the mandatory rotation regulations introduced into the legal system.
