장애대학생의 자아정체감과 대학생활 적응 간의 관계 (Adjustment to college of University Students with Disabilities)

초록

본 연구에서는 장애대학생의 자아정체감과 대학생활 적응 특성을 분석하고, 자아정체감과 대학생활 적응 간의 관계를 고찰하고자 하였다. 대학의 장애학생 교육복지 지원 실태조사 결과와 지역, 성별, 장애유형 등을 고려하여 전국 21개 대학을 선정, 배부된 373부 중 회수된 212부의 설문지를 분석하였다. 연구도구는 한국 자아정체감 검사(박아청, 2003)와 대학생활 적응 척도(이경림, 박재국, 2007)를 활용하였으며, 자료처리는 연구문제에 맞게 기술통계, t-test, 변량분석과 상관분석을 실시하였다.
연구결과, 첫째, 장애대학생의 자아정체감은 주체성, 자기수용성, 미래확신성이 목표지향체성, 주도성, 친밀성보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 장애유형, 중복장애 여부에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대학생활 적응은 일반적 적응, 사회적 적응, 학업적 적응, 개인-정서적 적응 순으로 높게 나타났으며, 배경변인에 따라 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 장애대학생의 자아정체감과 대학생활 적응 간에는 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 자아정체감과 대학생활 적응은 밀접한 관계가 있으며, 자아정체감 요소들을 고려하여 대학생활 지원 프로그램을 개발한다면 장애대학생의 대학생활 적응능력 향상에 긍정적인 효과가 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the level of ego-identity and adjustment to university of students with disabilities and also to investigate the correlation between ego-identity and adjustment to university for providing supports.
The subjects in this study were 212 students with disabilities of 21 universities. Korean Ego-Identity Scale were composed of 6, initiativeness, self-receptiveness, confirmativeness for future, goal orientedness, subjectivity and intimacy. Also, Scale for Adjustment to university were composed of 4, personal-emotional, social, general and academic adjustment. Result of the study can be summarized as follows.
First, the university students with disabilities investigated got a 3.36 in ego-identity. And the initiativeness, self-receptiveness, confirmativeness for future appeared to be higher than the goal orientedness, subjectivity, intimacy. Also, the level of ego-identity appeared to have significant difference according to kinds of disability and whether or not of having multiple disabilities. Second, the university students with disabilities investigated got a 3.31 in adjustment to university. And the general, social, academic, personal-e motional adjustment appeared to be higher in order. Also, the level of adjustment to university appeared to have no significant difference according to background variable. Third, there is a correlation between ego-identity and adjustment to university. Therefore, these results suggest that if the elements of ego-identity are considered as factors of supports for university students with disabilities, it can effect positively on the adjustment to university life.
