농학계열 대학 학과 및 학문 간 거리: 취업분야를 중심으로 (The Distance between Disciplines and Departments in Agricultural Colleges: Focusing on the Field of Employment)

초록

본 연구는 농학계열 대학들이 농학의 정체성 유지를 위한 통섭과 학제 간의 협력 연구분야를 발굴한다는 측면에서 학과 간 융복합 가능성을 살피고자 하였다. 이에 따라, 학과 간 협력의 가능성을 취업분야의 공유정도로 설정하고 농학계열 학과 간, 학문 간의 거리를 측정하였다. 분석에 활용한 자료는 (사)전국농학계대학장협의회(ADACU)와 농림수산식품교육문화정보원(EPIS)이 전국 농학계열 대학을 대상으로 취업률을 조사한 2014년 자료이다. 본 연구는 해당 자료에서 선별과정을 거쳐 전국 81개 학과를 선정하고 이를 분석대상으로 하였다. 분석방법은 Ward 군집분석을 이용하였고, 최적 군집수 선택은 Monte Carlo 시뮬레이션을 이용하였다. 분석결과, 농업환경생태 ‧ 농수축산물 위생 및 품질관리 ‧ 식품영향과학 간, 농업기계학 ‧ 농업토목학 ‧ 조경학 간 취업분야 관계에서 직접 또는 간접 분야별로 비교적 빠르게 군집을 형성하고 있고 이 외에도 학문별 취업처를 공유하는 인접 학문 분야가 다수 존재함을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 볼 때, 공동교육과정 운영과 분야별 융합연구 가능성이 있는 세부 영역을 설정해 볼 수 있었으나, 그 정도는 농학계열 대학에서 벗어나 다른 단과대학으로 분리될 수준은 아닌 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 식품과학과 농업기계 분야는 다른 학과들에 비해 공유되는 취업부문 수준이 낮아 취업과 연계된 공동교육과정 운영 등에 어려움이 있을 것으로 보인다. 따라서, 현재 농산업분야에서 요구되고 있는 전문적, 기술적 영역에 대해 일정부분 공통된 방향성을 가지고 있는 인접 학과 및 학문 간에는 통합과 조정, 융복합이 우선적으로 필요할 것이다. 이를 위해서 농학계열 대학은 변화되어가는 사회 및 경제, 산업 등의 환경에 대한 명확한 현실 판단과 예측, 선제적 대응을 위한 노력이 필요할 것이며, 학계는 연구를 비롯한 다양한 논의를 통해 이를 뒷받침해 줄 수 있어야 할 것이다.

영어초록

This study examined the possibility of convergence between departments in terms of consilience for maintaining the identity of agricultural science and discovering cooperative research areas between disciplines at agricultural universities. Accordingly, the possibility of cooperation between departments was set as the degree of sharing in the field of employment, and measures the distance between disciplines in agriculture colleges. The data used for the analysis were the data of the National Association Deans of Agricultural College and University and the EPIS(Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery) surveying the employment rate of agricultural universities nationwide in 2014. After the data selection process, 81 departments from Agricultural universities nationwide were used to analyze. Ward cluster analysis was used for the analysis method, and Monte Carlo simulation was used to select the optimal number of clusters. As a result of the analysis, clusters are formed relatively quickly directly or indirectly in the relationship between agricultural environment ecology, hygiene and quality control of agricultural and livestock products, food impact science, and agricultural machinery, agricultural civil engineering, and landscaping. It was confirmed that there are many academic fields. When looking through this, although it was possible to set up detailed areas with the possibility of operating a joint curriculum and convergence research by field, it was found that the degree was not at the level of being separated into other colleges away from agricultural universities. However, compared to other departments, the food science and agricultural machinery fields have a low level of shared employment, so it seems that there will be difficulties in operating joint education courses related to employment. Therefore, basic departments and the elderly, who have a certain partially cultivated direction for the professional and consequently required by the current agricultural industry, need integration, adjustment, and military complex first. To this end, agricultural colleges will need to make efforts to make clear reality judgments, predictions, and preemptive responses to the changing social, economic, and industrial environments, and the academic world should be able to support them through various discussions, including research. something to do.
