초록

본 논의는 비교문화관점의 한ㆍ일 대인접촉에 초점을 맞추어 국내 거주 일본인들이 기록한 텍스트의 내용분석을 통해 문화가치체계에 따른 한ㆍ일 문화 간 커뮤니케이션 갈등양상에 대해 살펴볼 것이다. 이는 정량적 연구에서 논의되지 않은 한ㆍ일 양국의 독특한 문화 간 커뮤니케이션 갈등양상이 무엇인지 발견해내는 작업이다.
문화 간 커뮤니케이션은 메시지의 오해와 왜곡으로 인한 문화갈등의 부정적 효과를 초래하는 반면 긍정적인 문화 간 커뮤니케이션은 국가 간 상호이해와 적극적 문화교류가 시행되는 계기가 될 수 있다. 그러므로 한ㆍ일 양국의 문화 간 커뮤니케이션 갈등양상을 규명하는 작업은 일본문화의 이해를 촉진할 뿐 아니라 문화 간 커뮤니케이션에 나타난 상이한 가치관을 규명한다는 점에서 매우 의의 있는 일이라 하겠다.
본 논의에서는 무엇보다 먼저 문화 간 커뮤니케이션 연구를 위한 다양한 문화가치유형을 파악한 뒤 이를 바탕으로 일본인 텍스트에 나타난 한ㆍ일 문화 간 커뮤니케이션 갈등양상을 순차적으로 살펴볼 것이다. 나아가 한ㆍ일 문화 간 커뮤니케이션의 특성을 결론 부분의 마지막 장에서 매듭지을 것이다. 이러한 한ㆍ일 문화 간 커뮤니케이션 갈등양상에 대한 고찰은 최근 한류를 바탕으로 촉발된 한ㆍ일간의 적극적인 문화교류와 관광객, 유학생 등 대인접촉의 빠른 증가에 따른 메시지의 오해와 갈등의 부정적 인식을 잠식하여 문화 간 커뮤니케이션 전략의 단초를 제공할 것이다.

영어초록

Nowadays, development of network and global traffic network is rapidly increasing intercultural communication. The fact that communication transmitters and receivers between Korean and Japanese culture with distinctive cultural background use different languages implies not just they do not share communication codes but also cultural conflict might arise due to the difference of their values internalized in the messages exchanged.
Thereupon, this study aims to examine the aspects of conflict between Korean and Japanese culture resulted from the types of cultural values through content analysis on literature text recorded by Japanese living in Korea.
According to the result of this research, Koreans tend to avoid uncertainty, have collectivism, authoritarianism, and positivity, express aggressive emotion, and pursue straightforward, subjective, and unilateral communication whereas Japanese are inclined to indirect, objective, and modest communication as they show codependency and emotional control since there coexist collectivism-individualism and values of vertical-horizontal human relations in Japan. On account of this, Koreans consider Japanese likely to use obscure expressions with passive attitudes to suppress their feelings and limit private questions to be lukewarm and twofold and also uncomfortable to be with for their true heart can never be known however, there is also a hindrance factor that Japanese feel unpleasant when asked of their private information by Koreans. It was also found that Japanese misunderstand Koreans are selfish, rude, and imprudent hardly controlling their feelings and always holding fast to their own opinion unilaterally, so communicative conflict between Korean and Japanese culture occurs inevitably.
In order to resolve cultural conflict lying in communication between Korean and Japanese culture and make the communication smoother, it is demanded to establish communicative strategies to understand the systems of their cultural values and cultivate communicative competence between the cultures.
