초록

<리국각매문답(籬菊閣梅問答)>은 안효술이 조인영의 사퇴를 만류하고자 우언과 문대를 활용한 글쓰기 방식을 통해 시중(時中)에 따른 자신의 출처관을 우의적으로 표현한 작품이다. <리국각매문답>은 1882년 9월 조인영이 영의정을 사퇴하던 당시에 창작된 것으로 확인된다. 당시 안효술은 영천군수에서 파직되고 간동(諫洞)에서 조은(朝隱)하던 시기였다.
안효술은 <리국각매문답>에서 자신의 뜻을 표현하고자 우언과 문대라는 글쓰기 방식을 적극적으로 활용한다. 먼저 <리국각매문답>에서 등장인물은 현실과 관련된 인물이 화훼로 의인화되고, 배경 또한 상징적이며 추상적인 동리와 동각으로 설정되어 있다. 이로써 <리국각매문답>은 현실의 문제가 허구적으로 읽히는 우의성을 지니게 된다. 한편 <리국각매문답>에는 동리처사와 동각선생이 묻고 답하는 형식으로 의론을 전개하는 문대가 발견된다. 그런데 문대는 일반적으로 두 인물 중 한 인물이 절대적인 우위에 서게 되는데 <리국각매문답>은 특정한 인물이 절대적 우위를 점하지 않는다. 즉, 동리처사와 동각선생이 서로 공감하고 상대의 잘못된 점을 고쳐준다는 점에서 일반적인 문대와는 차이가 있다.
<리국각매문답>은 우언이나 문대라는 글쓰기 방식을 창조적으로 활용하였지만 작품의 내용은 전통적인 유교적 출처관을 벗어나지 못하였다. 이때 유교적 출처관이란 『주역』에 근거한 ‘시중’에 따른 선비의 출처를 강조하는 것이다. 하지만 안효술은 <리국각매문답>에서 이를 단순한 방식으로 드러내지 않는다. 매화와 국화의 생태적 속성과 그와 관련한 고사를 이용하여 문학적으로 교양 있게 형상화하고 있기 때문이다. 곧 안효술의 <리국각매문답>은 화훼의 생태적 속성을 반영하고 우언과 문대라는 글쓰기 방식을 통해 ‘시중’에 따르는 자신의 출처관을 표현한 작품이다.

영어초록

"Ligukgakmaemundap(籬菊閣梅問答)" was created by Ahn Hyo-sul to dissuade Jo In-young from resigning, and he used the form of the question and the answer[問對] and the allegory[寓言]. At the same time, the work expresses allegorically his viewpoint of taking and leaving government posts. It was confirmed that "Ligukgakmaemundap" was created in September 1882 when Cho In-young resigned from the prime minister of the Joseon dynasty[領議政], and Ahn Hyo-sul was dismissed from his post as the governor of Yeongcheon-gun[永川郡守] and was in the period when he was in Gandong[諫洞].
Ahn Hyo-sul actively uses the writing style of the allegory and the question and the answer to express his meaning in "Ligukgakmaemundap". First of all, the character of "Ligukgakmaemundap" appears as a personification of a flower related to reality, and the background is also symbolic and abstract set in a Dong-ri and Dong-gak. As a result, "Ligukgakmaemundap" has the right to read the real world's problems fictitiously. In "Ligukgakmaemundap", there is also a phrase for Dong-ri Cheosa[東籬處士] and Dong-gak Sunsaeng[東閣先生] to ask and answer questions. In general, however, one of the two characters has an absolute advantage, but "Ligukgakmaemundap" does not have an absolute advantage. In other words, Dong-ri Cheosa and Dong-gak Sunsaeng sympathize with each other and correct each other's mistakes. It differs from the existing the question and the answer.
Although "Ligukgakmaemundap" creatively used the writing method that the allegory and the question and the answer, it is confirmed that the contents of the work did not deviate from the traditional Confucian viewpoint of taking and leaving government posts. The Confucian viewpoint emphasized the taking and leaving government posts timely based on "Juyeok(周易)". However, Ahn Hyo-sul simply does not emphasize the Confucian viewpoint in "Ligukgakmaemundap". This is because the ecological characteristics of plum and chrysanthemum and related historical events are used to create outstanding literary figures. Ahn Hyo-sul's "Ligukgakmaemundap" is a work that reflects the ecological characteristics of the flower and expresses his viewpoint of taking and leaving government posts based on circumstances through the writing method the allegory and the question and the answer.
