충청감영 문화유산의 활용과 자원화 방안 (Ways to Utilize Chungcheong Gamyeong Cultural Heritage)

초록

문화산업이 주목받기 시작하면서 지역의 정체성을 대표하는 문화자원 찾기는 우리시대의 중요한 화두가 되었다. 그런면에서‘감영’은 조선시대 지역문화 발전의 주체이며, 풍부한 유형 문화유산을 남기고 있어 문화산업을 위한 콘텐츠로 높은 가치를 지닌다. 그렇지만 지금까지 감영에 대한 관심은
문화재 복원에 치중되어왔고, 전문연구자를 위한 일회성 자료집 제작, 획일적인 축제·이벤트 개최 등으로 한계를 드러내고 있다.
감영의 행정적 역할은 지역별 큰 차이가 없으나, 수백년의 역사가 흐르며 저마다 독특한 문화를 그 지역에 남겨왔다. 충청감영이 자리했던 공주시는 백제시대부터 충청도의 首府로 명성이 높아 전국에서도 역사문화도시로 손꼽힌다. 그러나‘백제의 古都’라는 지역문화의 상징으로 인해 충청감영의
역사는 관심 밖이었던게 사실이다. 게다가 타 지역에 비해 감영 관련 유형문화유산도 극히 희박한 실정이다. 따라서 충청감영의 가치와 특성을 최대한 살리기 위해서는 문화사적, 지역적 특성을 찾아내 보여주고, 이것을 널리 알릴 수 있는 프로그램이 개발되어야 한다.
공주시에는 국립·도립박물관과 역사문화 연구기관 등이 소재하고 있어 감영문화에 대한 연구와 개발 사업을 진행 할 주체는 충분한 편이다. 이러한 공공기관과 충청남도, 공주시가 협력하여 자료의 수집·정리·연구 사업을 추진하고 편찬, 교육 등을 병행하며 충청감영의 기초데이터를 풍부하게 하는 것이 가장 우선 되어야 한다. 그 안에서 문화산업의 콘텐츠를 찾는다면 이상적인 개발 방식이 될 것이다.
본고에서는 지금까지 이루어진 충청감영에 대한 연구결과를 기초로 몇가지 주제를 추출해 문화콘텐츠 개발의 사례를 들고, 관광연계 방안 등 활용방안을 모색해 보았다. 충청감영의 이야기를 공연이나 축제의 소재로 활용해 보다 쉽게 감영 문화를 알리고, 공원을 조성하고 안내판을 두어 사라진
감영의 흔적을 되살린 다면 관광코스로도 가능할 것이다.

영어초록

As the culture industry has started to draw attention, finding cultural resources that represent the identity of local province has become an important topic of the current era. In that respect,
“Gamyeong,”the headquarter of the provincial governor which led the development of local culture in the Joseon dynasty, possesses abundant cultural heritage which has high value as the content of the culture industry. So far, however, interest in Gamyeong has focused on the restoration of cultural assets and been confined to the production of one-time-use materials for
researchers and holding standard festivals and events.
The administrative role of Gamyeong was little different according to province, but each Gamyeong left unique culture in its province over hundreds of years. Gongju City, where Chungcheong Gamyeong was located, has been renowned as the capital of Chungcheong Province since the Baekje era, and thus is considered one of outstanding historic and cultural cities in the nation. However, due to its strong symbolic status as the“ capital of Baekje,”the history of Chungcheong Gamyeong has failed to capture much attention. In addition, compared with other provinces, far less Gamyeong-related tangible cultural heritage has been preserved in Chungcheong province. Therefore, in order to restore the value and features of Chungcheong Gamyeong as much as possible, a program that finds out the cultural and local
features of Chungcheong Gamyeong and then makes lots of people acquainted with them should be developed.
Gongju City, where national and provincial museums and history and culture research centers are located, is considered to have enough resources to conduct a project to research and
develop Gamyeong, Above all, those public institutions and governments of South Chungcheong Province and Gongju City should work together to produce abundant basic data on Chungcheong Gamyeong by collecting, classifying and compiling related materials, and at the same time, delivering education. It is desirable to search for the content of the culture industry in the process of such joint work.
In the study, based on the results of the research on Chungcheong Gamyeong which has been conducted so far, several themes of this study were extracted. Furthermore, some cases of development of cultural contents were presented and ways to utilize the contents like linking them with the tourism industry were sought. If the story of Chungcheong Gamyeong is utilized as materials for performance and festivals, it can make people acquainted with Gamyeong culture more easily. Besides, if a park that invokes the image of Gamyeong is created with some signs in it, it can become a tourist spot.
