만주국 '鮮계' 문학 건설과 안수길 (The Establishment of the Manchu-Korean Literature and Soogill An)

초록

이 글은 안수길의 ‘만주국’시기 창작활동을 만주국 ‘鮮계’ 문학 건설과의 관계 속에서 살펴보았다. 만주국 ‘선계’ 문학 건설이란 만주국의 한 구성원으로서 일계, 만계와 함께 만주국 문학장에 편입됨을 의미하며 이는 만주국의 ‘오족협화’ 이념에 기반한 것이다. 조선에서 날로 강화되는 일제의 ‘내선일체’의 강요에서 벗어나기 위해 만주로 이주한 조선인 작가들은 같은 일제의 지배논리이기는 하지만 ‘내선일체’ 보다는 ‘오족협화’를 좀 더 나은 것으로 파악했으며 만주국의 지배이념인 ‘오족협화’를 적극 이용하여 만주국에서 조선인 문학을 적극 발전시키려고 하였다. 또한 만주국의 성립과 함께 간도의 조선인 민회 등 단체들은 간도 조선인의 자치를 더욱 강력하게 요구하였으며 만주국 정부 직속의 간도 자치론으로 그 방향이 점차 확정되어갔다. 그러나 만주 조선인의 대표적인 작가였던 안수길에게 만주는 선택이 아닌 삶 그 자체였고 그에게서는 여타의 작가들이 보여준 ‘내선일체’와 ‘오족협화’ 사이의 긴장이 없었다. 안수길은 만주국 건국 이전에 조선계 농민들이 만주의 개척과 수전개간에 대한 기여를 통해 조선인의 ‘만주국 국민’의 자격을 확인하였으며 ‘만주국’이 적극 장려하는 유축농업을 발전시키고 농민도를 확립하는 것이야말로 ‘만주국 국민’이 되기 위한 길이라고 주장하였다. 이는 ‘농업 만주’의 건설과 ‘수전 개간’에 대한 조선인만이 가능한 특수한 기여를 통해 ‘만주국 국민’이 되어야 한다고 했던 염상섭의 사상과 동일한 맥락에 놓여있다. 안수길은 이러한 ‘만주국 국민’ 되기의 끝, 즉 최종 목표는 만주국의 ‘오족협화’에 기반한 조선인의 ‘자치’라고 보았다.

영어초록

Mainly starting from the interrelationships in the establishment of theManchu-Korean literature in the Manchu empire, this paper does study on Soogill An'screative activities during the Manchu empire period. Based on the concept of "theHarmony of Five Nationalities", the establishment of the Manchu-Korean literaturemeant that the Manchu-Korean literature as a part of the Manchu empire's literature,composed the the Manchu empire's literary field with Japanese and Manchurianliterature. With the constantly reinforced "Japan-Korea Integration" policy by Japan,Korean writers who immigrated to the Puppet Manchu empire in order to get ridof high-pressured bondage preferred "the Harmony of Five Nationalities" than"Japan-Korea Integration" and took use of the colonial concept of "the Harmony ofFive Nationalities" to develop the Manchu-Korean literature in the Manchu empire.
Besides this, with the establishment of the Manchu empire, some groups which arelike Korean Civic Union in Gando more strongly required the Korean autonomy inGando and gradually confirmed the direction of building the autonomy in Gando underthe the Manchu empire's government. However, for Soogill An who was the one ofthe Korean representative writers in the Manchu empire, Manchu is not an optionbut the whole of his life, so different from other writers he didn't hesitate between"Japan-Korea Integration" and "Republic of Five Nationalities". With the fact that beforethe Manchu empire's establishment Korean farmers had joined the development of Manchu and contributed to its agriculture, for example, "Paddy Cultivation", An Soogillbelieved that those Korean people had the right to become the Manchurian peopleand to become the Manchurian people, Korean people must develop the "AnimalAgriculture" which was encouraged by the Manchu empire and forster farmer's spirit.
This is in the same context with Yoem Sangsub's idea that Korean people should dospecial contribution in building "Agricultural Manchu" and "Paddy Cultivation" to getthe qualification to become Manchurian people. The final intention of becomingManchurian people which An Soogill suggested was to realize Korean people's autonomyon "the Harmony of Five Nationalities".
