초록

The purposes of this study were to explore the concept of health promotion through literature review on the development process of health promotion centers and to design new nurse's uniforms at the Yonsei University Medical Center Integrated Health Promotion Center by analyzing the formative elements of the current uniforms at the general outpatient ward as well as Health Promotion Center within the Center.
Following were the results of this study:First, formative analysis of the nurse’s uniforms at Yonsei University Medical Center revealed 4 elements of management function, activity function, the current uniforms’ management function as well as activity function. Likewise, in aesthetics, extracted were 5 elements of the current uniform aesthetic satisfaction, the pursuit of uniform aesthetics, the trend reflects the degree, experimental style, and the style conservatism. Also, in symbolism, 2 elements were extracted, which included the reflection of the current uniform symbolism, the degree of preference in symbolism.
Second, the demands of the Health Promotion Center nursing uniforms medical personnel were high in aesthetic function or reflection of current trend than functional requirements. While there existed little differences in preference regarding the management function compared with those in general outpatient ward, the nurses in the Health Promotion Center preferred the existing hospital color or symbolic expression incorporating CI and also the highly sensitive images which would differentiate them as health services professionals.
Third, following demonstrated the nurses uniform designs at the Yonsei University Medical Center Integrated Health Promotion Center, reflected by analysis of the formative elements reflects were as follows: Functionality, in the form of highly durable housing materials and processing through uniform management functions and activity functions, was carried out to improve the aesthetics of the medical service center in harmony with the interior space. Also, symbolism was the trait that was used to differentiate the image of the Health Promotion Center, which in turn has contributed to the integrated view of the Medical Center Health Promotion Center as a whole.
