<땅다지는소리>와 <묘다지는소리>의 존재양상－다짐의 친연성과 풍수의 차이를 중심으로－ (An Existence Aspect of ‘Ttangdajineun-sori’ and ‘Myodajineun-sori’)

초록

<땅다지는소리>는 살아 있는 사람을 위한 집짓기 과정에 부르는 노래이고, <묘다지는소리>는 망자의 영면을 위한 집짓기 과정에 부르는 노래이다. 이들은 집터를 다지는 과정에 부르는 노래와 장례를 치르는 과정에 부르는 노래인 까닭에 선소리꾼은 두 노래를 구분하여 각기 다른 내용의 사설로 구성하는 것이 보통이다. 하지만 선소리꾼에 따라서는 이를 구분하지 않고 동일한 내용의 사설로 구성하는 경우가 있다. 그런가 하면 <땅다지는소리>를 부를 때 보통 구성하는 <성주풀이>의 사설을 <묘다지는소리>에는 구성하지 않고, <묘다지는소리>에 흔히 구성하는 <회심곡>의 사설을 <땅다지는소리>에는 구성하지 않는다. 이러한 사정은 다지는 방식의 차이에도 불구하고 땅을 다진다는, 곧 다짐이라는 두 작업의 친연성으로 인해 같은 의미의 사설로 구성하고, 내용의 다름은 양택과 음택이라는 풍수의 차이로 인해 두 노래의 사설을 구분하여 구성하는 것으로 파악한다.
선소리꾼이 <땅다지는소리>에서 <성주풀이> 사설을 흔히 구성하는 까닭은, 집을 건축하는 데는 목재가 필수적인 재료이기 때문에 나무를 심고 가꾸어 벌목하여 재목으로 다듬는 과정을 노래한 <성주풀이> 사설을 활용한 것이다. 하지만 망자의 집을 짓는 데는 목재가 필요하지 않은 까닭에 <묘다지는소리>에는 목재와 관련된 <성주풀이> 사설을 구성하지 않는 것으로 이해한다.
<회심곡>은 <묘다지는소리>뿐만 아니라 웬만한 노래에는 흔히 구성되는 노래임에도 78편의 <땅다지는소리> 중에 단지 세 편에만 부분적으로 구성되어 있었다. <땅다지는소리>는 사람이 생활을 하고 휴식을 취할 수 있는 공간을 만드는 과정에 부르는 노래이다. 그런데 <회심곡>은 인간의 탄생과 늙음 그리고 병이 들어 죽음에 이르고 저승에 가서 심판을 받는다는 내용의 노래이다. 따라서 삶의 공간을 조성하면서 부르는 <땅다지는소리>에 죽음, 또는 사후세계에 대한 사설을 구성한다는 것은 적절치 않기에 선소리꾼은 <회심곡>을 적극적으로 활용하지 않은 것이다.

영어초록

‘Ttangdajineun-sori’ is a song that is sung while consolidating home sites as a part of building houses, and ‘Myodajineun-sori’ is sung while making the grave mound of dead person. In other words, the former indicates a song that is sung in the process of building houses for living persons, and the latter is sung for the external rest of dead persons. So, they have differences in singing while making Yangtaek that is the housing site of living person called in Feng Shui frequently and Eumtaek, the site of dead person. However, these two are not different from singing songs in the process of building houses. Then, they are classified differently such like ‘Ttangdajineun-sori’ is related to work song and ‘Myodajineun-sori’ is ceremony song according to importance of functions, that is, work and ceremony in folksong researches.
As these two songs having different functions are made in the process of consolidating homesites and holding funeral at the same time, the lead singer composes words of different contents by classifying them commonly. Nonetheless, some lead singers do not classify the songs and thus compose words with same contents. Meanwhile, words of <Seongjupuri> is not composed to ‘Myodajineun-sori’ which is frequently composed in singing ‘Ttangdajineun-sori’, and words of <Hoesimgok> composed generally in singing ‘Myodajineun-sori’ is not made up to ‘Ttangdajineun-sori’.
In this way, likeness of words contents are composed of same meaning owing to heterogeneity of two works such like consolidating the land, that is compaction, and differences of contents are grasped as being composed by classifying two songs because of Feng Shui’s dissimilarity like Yangtaek and Eumtaek.
In these songs, blessing words with contents like ‘A change in fortune will be made because this place is a propitious site for the grave.’ are composed a lot, and these are more expanded to ‘Myodajineun-sori’ than ‘Ttangdajineun-sori’. The reason that blessing words have been expanded to 'Myodajineun-sori' could be said as being derived from lead singer’s considerations on compensations for the lost family member. Namely, it is to console by expanding blessing contents as the compensation for losing the family member.
The reason of frequently composing <Seongjupuri> words in ‘Ttangdajineun-sori’ is to use matched one because woods are essential materials for constructing houses. None the less, <Seongjupuri> words related to woods are not composed in ‘Myodajineun-sori’.
Though <Hoesimgok> is commonly composed to ordinary songs in addition to <Myodajineun-sori>, three section was composed only among 78 ‘Ttangdajineun-sori’. ‘Ttangdajineun-sori’ is a song that is sung in the process of making spaces where persons live and take rests. By the way, <Hoesimgok> is corresponded to a song which composes contents such like human birth, aging, getting judgment at hell after reaching to death owing to illness. Furthermore, <Hoesimgok> shows results of contrary reward and punishment, and thus makes people accumulate many merits in the world by being afraid of absolute authority of ‘Ten Kings’ as a key subject. Thus, it is understood that the lead singer does not compose <Hoesimgok> positively because making up words on death, or post-world is not suitable while forming living spaces. Therefore, a fact can be known the lead singer of ‘Ttangdajineun-sori’ and ‘Myodajineun-sori’ is composing words by considering orally narrated environment.
