초록

일제강점기 민족독립운동에 투신했던 순국열사와 애국지사는 늘 관심의 대상이다. 이
들에 대해 '독립유공자 예우에 관한 법률'이 제정된 이래로 관련 예우법이 적용되어왔
다. 한국여성독립운동을 살펴보면, 2013년 기준으로 현재 233명이 국가에서 인정받고
있지만 관련한 추가연구 및 대중홍보미비로 인해 대상자연구는 기초수준에 머물고
있다. 그래서 민족독립운동의 과정에서 활약했던 여성의 존재감을 회복하기 위해서
학계나 관련 연구기관, 보훈정책이 연계 구도를 형성하는 것은 무엇보다도 중요하다.
이런 관점에서 연구자는 한국여성독립유공자의 발굴흐름을 연도별, 시기별로 구분하
였고 여성독립유공자현황과 특성을 분석했다. 분석 자료를 살펴보면, 대체로 1990년대
전후는 독립유공자 발굴에 주력했던 시기인 반면, 2000년 이후에는 발굴정체시기인
것으로 파악된다. 또한 현재 여성보훈기관 및 단체는 소수에 불과하고 여성참여도도
낮은 비율이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 한국여성독립운동의 국가 보훈적 가치는 여성과
민족, 역사의 정체성을 대변할 뿐만 아니라 여성의 자발적 애국심이 발휘된 사례로
중요한 의미를 가진다. 따라서 현실적인 여성보훈정책의 필요성에 주목하여, 추가적인
사료 발굴, 대상자 선정확대, 지역전문가 확보 등를 통해서 국가-젠더-애국의 실천사
례로 부각될 수 있는 방향을 모색해야 하며, 향후 한국여성독립운동은 한국독립운동
사의 중요한 부문으로, 자발적인 여성의 나라사랑정신의 실천사례로서 주목해야 할
것이다.

영어초록

The patriots who laid down their life for the national independence movement and
the patriots who devoted their life to the movement in the era under the colonial
administration of imperial Japan have been always the object of attention. After
'the law for the respectful treatment of the men of national merit of the
independence' was legislated, the law for the respectful treatment has been applied
to them. In the sector of Korean women's independence movement, the 233
persons are acknowledged by the country based on the year 2013 but the
respectful treatment is stagnant at the basic level of acknowledging the recipients
who are the men of national merit owing to insufficient additional studies and
public relations related to the independence movement. Accordingly, in order to
recover the sense of existence of women who were active in the process of the
national independence movement, it is important to form a connection structure
between the academic world, related research institutes and the policy of reward
and welfare for the patriots. In this viewpoint, the flow of finding Korean women
of national merit of the independence was classified by the year, and the present
situation and the characteristice of the women of national merit of the
independence in each of the period were analyzed. If we look into the analysis of
the materials, the 1990's was the period when Korea was concentration of finding
the men of national merit of the independence, and it is understood that the period
after the 2000's was the time when finding them was stagnant. Presently there
are only a little number of the reward and welfare institutions and organizations
for woman of the national merit and the degree of participation of women appears
to be low. In spite of the above fact, the value of the national reward and welfare
for the women of national merit of Korean women's independence movement
represents the identity of women, nation and history and it has an important
meaning as the examples of the demonstrated spontaneous patriotism of women.
Accordingly, practice of feasible policy of reward and welfare for the women of
the national merit is necessary. Through additional finding of historical records,
extension of selection of objects of reward and securing local experts, the direction
that can make their devotion to the country highlighted as the example of the
practice of the country-gender-patriotism should be sought. In the future, the
Korean women's independence movement should be highlighted as an important
sector of the history of the independence movement and the example of the
spontaneous practice of the loving-country sprit of women.
