본문내용

Korea peninsula is the only divided area in the world with high military tense over 60 years. Since the outbreak of “Korean War” in 25 June 1950, the security situation of Korean peninsula has never been settled down. North Korea is communist state which has a peculiar governing ideology- Juche ideology- and is struggling to survive within their regime in face of many threats.
North Korea is on the cliff. Internally, they are in danger. They are suffering from economic crisis, social problems and slag of political power. These internal security threats are crucial to the survival of North Korea and they have been trying to overcome it by propelling many measurements. Externally, they are also isolated from international society, for the reason of nuclear weapons, supporting terrorist by selling weapons, committing transnational crimes(smuggling, counterfeiting, drug, tracking) and so on.
To encounter these threats, North Korea has been taken various measures, internally as well as externally. However, all the measures taken by North Korean government to overcome security threats are strictly confined within its regime. Since the objective of her policy is not based on the state’s economic prosperity but on survival, the measurement itself has many limitations. Therefore, most of the measurements were doomed to fail. If the North Korean leadership will not amend his regime, vicious circle cannot be terminated, instead, reckless and provocative behaviors will be lasted due to various threat perceptions.
