본문내용

<주제를 선택하게 된 배경>
현재 원내 감염이 예전에 비해 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 인구 고령화와 각종 수술이나 일반 항생균으로 치료가 힘든 다제내성균도 훨씬 증가하였기 때문이다.
또한 최근 코로나19 여파로 인해 확진자가 대량 발생했으며 사망자도 급증했던 것으로 보아 완전 종식은 어려울 것으로 판단되어 ‘위드 코로나(with corona)’시대를 살아가는 상황속에서 감염에 대한 관심은 나날이 더욱 높아지고 있다. WHO는 Corona19가 종식되더라도 머지않아 다른 계절성 독감이 유행할 것이라고 보고 있으며 (2023) 이에 따른 예방, 관리에 대한 관심이 높아져 대응도 점점 중요하게 인식되고 있다. 의사 신문을 찾아보던 도중 이대목동병원 감염내과 교수는 “감염으로 병이 더 악화되거나 후유증이 생길 수 있고 입원기간과 의료비용도 늘어날 수도 있으며 심지어 사망할 수 있기 때문에 예방에 심혈을 기울여야 한다.”(최희정, 2021)라고 말하였던 것을 보아 감염의 심각성과 그에 따른 예방관리 지침이 얼마나 중요한지를 볼 수 있는 대목인 것 같다.
감염관리에는 많은 것들이 있지만 가장 최근에 배웠던 도뇨관 관련 요로감염 (Catheter Associated UTI, CAUTI)에 대해 흥미를 느껴 주제를 선정하였다. 필요에 의해 사용하는 catheter로 인해 쉽게 감염에 노출되는 환자들을 보호하고자 함에 있어 기본적인 내용들이지만 잘 알지 못해 헷갈리는 점들이 많아 더 정확하게 알고 싶었고 직접 논문을 보고 공부하여 감염을 최소화하여 질 높은 간호를 제공하기 위해 선택하게 되었다.
