서론
오경의 자료가 JEDP라는 문서로 구별된 이후, 다양한 방면에서의 논쟁이 있어왔다. 자
료의 존재에 대한 논쟁, 순서에 대한 논쟁, 연대에 대한 논쟁 등이 있었다. 다수의 학자
들은 P 자료에 대한 존재와 특징이 대해서는 어느 정도 합의점에 이른 것처럼 보인다.
특별히 P의 내용과 특징에 대해서는 합의하는 바가 있다. 그러나 여전히 진행중인 논쟁
도 있다. P의 기본자료라고 할 수 있는 PG에 대해서는 공통된 의견이 있으나, 그 결말이
어디까지인지, 그렇다면 후에 작업된 자료는 어디까지인지에 대한 논쟁이 있다. 그러나
더욱 중요한 논쟁은 P가 자료로써 기능을 하였는지, 편집으로써 기능을 하였는지에 대한
논쟁이다.
그래서 본 논문에서는 먼저 대부분의 합의가 있는 P의 특징에 대해서 설명할 것이다.
이 내용은 기본자료인 PG가 아닌 완성된 P에 대한 내용이 될 것이다. 그리고 논쟁 중인
자료 모델과 편집 모델의 특징과 주장하는 학자들의 의견을 살펴볼 것이다. 마지막으로
이 두 모델에 대한 보완적 모델로 등장한 혼합 모델에 대한 학자들의 주장을 볼 것이다.
본론
1. P의 특징
뇔데케(Th. Nöldeke)는 오경의 가장 기본 자료를 P로 설정했다. 그리고 그 P의 범위는
광범위하며, 반복적인 내용이 있지만 구체적이고 자세한 서술이나, 생동감이 있지는 않은
특징에 대해 언급했다. 그리고 등장 인물에 대해서도 간략한 언급만 있을 뿐이라고 설명
했다.

또한 제사장 저자는 “톨레도트(ותֹדֵ ולֹת “(양식을 사용하였다. 이 양식은 원역사에 5번
(창 2:4a; 5:1; 6:9; 10:1; 11:10), 족장사에 5번(창 11:27; 25:12, 19; 36:1; 37:2) 나타난다.

리고 몇 개의 족보들에서는 이름에 대한 특별한 관심이 표현되기도 한다.

제공되는 내용은 이름과 나이 목록뿐이다. 분명 이것은 소개된 인물들에 대해 이미 있던
서술에 대해서 아는 사람들이 있었다는 것을 전제로한다.
10 역사 서술의 중요한 이 틀은
P의 편집을 위한 기반이었다.
출애굽기에서 레위기를 지나 민수기까지 이어지는 자료에서도 P의 작업이 나타난다.
창세기보다 도 훨씬 작은 내러티브로 이루어져 있으며, P의 작업은 “그들이 -에서 떠나 -
에 진을 치다’라는 양식으로 표현되었다.
