A. Viscosity
It means the resistance of fluid to deformation under shear stress. There are several viscometers that measure the rate at which a liquid flows. The flow rate, R can be expressed by Poiseuille’s Law

A. Preparation of polyvinyl alcohol/water solution
Notes
1) A few days before the experiment, a solution of different weight percent should be prepared.
2) Dissolve dry polyvinyl alcohol in 90°C water.
3) Be careful not to create bubbles or foam.
4) Cool the solution and transfer to another vial.
5) Put a label on the polymer solution and store it in the refrigerator.
B. Measuring the time taken
1) Pour 10 mL of distilled water into the viscometer using a pipette.
2) Suck the water from the bottom marked area to the top.
