Ⅰ서론
1)연구주제:
모유수유 증진프로그램에 남편의 참여가 모유수유실천율과 지속 기간에 미치는 영향

2)연구의 필요성
모유 수유는 엄마와 아기의 사망률과 이환율을 감소시키는 가장 효과적인 건강증진 행위이다[1]. 모유는 모체로부터 분비되는 자연 영양으로 영아에게 필요한 모든 영양소를 포함하는 이상적인 식품이며 면역 작용이 있어 감염과 알레르기에 대한 저항력을 향상시키고 지적 능력을 향상시킨다. 또한 모유수유 중 모자간의 친밀한 피부접촉은 영아의 건강한 정서적, 심리적 발달을 돕고 더 나아가 어머니 또한 신체적 건강과 자신의 가치감을 강화시킴으로써 어머니의 자아성취를 증진시키며 여성의 모성애적 돌봄의 역할을 통해 심리적 성숙의 기회가 된다[2]. 이러한 모유 수유의 장점에도 불구하고 우리나라의 모유 수유 실천율은 1970년대 46-69%에서 2000년에는 20.6%로 해마다 계속 감소되었다. 이는 유럽의 모유 수유율이 75%, 미국이 52%, 일본이 45%인 것에 비해 턱없이 낮은 수치이다.외국의 모유 수유율은 1970년대를 기점으로 급격히 증가하여 미국의 경우, ‘ealthy People 2010'이라는 국가목표를 설정하고 출산 시 75%, 생후 6개월 동안 50%, 생후 1년 동안 25%가 모유수유를 지속하는 것을 목표로 설정하고 강력하게 모유 수유 실천을 추진해 오고 있다[4].우리나라의 모유수유율도 정부와 민간단체의 지속적인 계몽과 홍보활동의 결과 2003년 16.5%, 2006년 24.2%[5]로 점차 증가하고 있지만 아직도 외국에 비해 낮은 실정이다. 이에 우리나라의 국민건강증진종합계획 2010년에서는 생후 4주 모유수유율 달성 목표를 70%로 설정한바 있다[6]. 한편, 모유 수유에서는 모유 수유율도 중요하지만 지속기간이 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 영아는 생후 6개월 동안 전적으로 모유로만 양육되는 것이 이상적이며 생후 6개월부터 만 2세까지는 적절한 이유식과 함께 모유를 계속먹이는 것이 바람직하다
