본문내용

South Korea (Republic of Korea) is a country of 47 million people in Northeast Asia. In the short period from 1970-90, export-led industrialization transformed South Korea from one of the world뭩 poorest economies to the 11th largest. It became a member of the so-called development countries club, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in 1996. Its export-oriented economy supports a relatively affluent society.

Steel trade is one of significant export in Korea and I am going to analyze U.S. steel trade policy generally with focus on its influence toward Korea especially. In fact, the U.S. is the most powerful country in the fields of international economy and trade, thus almost all countries including Korea have been strongly influenced by the U.S. Accordingly, the purpose of my research is to understand U.S. trade policies of protectionism and free trade and then present advice concerning trade conflict.I examine protectionism and free trade briefly and focus on foreign trade policy in terms of WTO and research recent trade conflict between U.S. and its trade partners, especially focusing on recent hot issues.
