    Ⅰ. 청소년 부적응행동의 의미

    1. 청소년 부적응

    청소년들에게 나타나는 부정적인 현상이라고 말할 수 있는 청소년 부적응 행동은 그 개념이 모호하여 뚜렷하게 정의 내리기는 쉽지 않다. 또한 청소년의 부적응을 분류하는 기준은 국가와 문화에 따라 차이가 있고 동일한 문화 속에서도 시대에 따라 변화하는 경향을 보인다. 그러나 대부분 학자들은 적응과 부적응의 개념을 다음과 같이 설명하고 있다. 적응은 개체가 환경 또는 상황에 따른 행동을 학습하고 자기에게 적합하도록 환경에 적응하거나, 적합한 상황을 만들어내는 행동이라 하였다. 반면, 환경이나 상황에 대한 사회적 적응 또는 자기의 인격적 적응에 실패했을 때에 나타나는 퇴행, 공격, 도피 등의 행동을 경감시키는 방어 기제의 표현이나 이상한 방법에 의한 일종의 적응 과정을 부적응 이라 한다. 또한 부적응은 적응에 대한 대칭적 자원을 의미하며, 적응과 부적응은 연속선상에 존재하는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 위의 정의를 기초로 하여 부적응에 대하여 정의 하자면, 부적응이란 개인과 환경과의 관계에서 부적절하고 부조화를 이루는 상태로서, 개인의 욕구, 감정, 사상 등이 사회의 규범에 용납되지 못하는 것이다. 또한 개인이 생활해 나가는데 필요한 타인들과의 관계에서, 혹은 그 사회의 질서나 규범과 조화를 이루지 못해 소속 집단에 대해 장애가 될 뿐만 아니라, 연령, 성별에 따라 사회가 기대하는 행동양식으로부터 일탈된 행동을 하는 상태를 말한다.
