초록

경주 단석산 석굴과 미륵불상군에 대해서 한국 고대 불교조각사에서 중요시되는 몇 가지 점을 밝힐 수 있었다.
첫째 신라 유가유식종파의 성립과 미륵신앙에 대해서 인도 및 중국과 비교하면서 신라의 특징을 살펴보았다. 이를 바탕으로 삼고 명문을 분석하여 단석산 석굴의 조성 배경과 조형사상을 미륵보살반가사유상의 상생신앙(上生信仰)과 미륵불의 하생신앙(下生信仰)이 조화되어 나타난 결과라는 사실을 밝히게 되었다.
둘째 단석산 석굴 미륵존상군의 도상 특징은 미륵불삼존상과 미륵보살반가사유상군으로 나누어 그 도상 특징을 밝혔다.
셋째 단석산 석굴 불상군의 양식적 특징과 편년에 대해서 살펴보았다. 양식 특징은 미륵불입상은 역강하고 강인한 특징과 함께 4등신의 동형(童形) 애기형 불상 양식이며 반가사유상은 우아하고 세련된 양식임을 밝히게 되었다. 이를 바탕으로 단석산 석굴의 불상군은 6세기 4/4분기경(575-600) 전후에 조성되었다는 사실을 밝힐 수 있었다.
넷째 단석산 석굴 구조는 ㄷ자의 평면에 10m의 암면으로 이루어진 석굴에 목조지붕과 서쪽에 출입문을 구축한 장엄한 석굴로 조영되었다는 점을 밝힐 수 있었다.
다섯째 단석산 석굴과 미륵불상군은 삼국시대 특히 신라 최대의 장대한 석굴이며, 미륵불입상 역시 고신라 초대형 최고 걸작이고, 반가사유상은 국보83호 반가사유상과 거의 일치하는 우아하고 세련된 양식이어서 이 역시 최고의 걸작으로 높이 평가된다고 할 수 있다.

영어초록

As for Gyeongju Danseoksan mountain stone cave and Maitraya images, this study managed to reveal some important points in the history of Korean ancient Buddhist sculpture.
First, the establishment of the Shilla Yogayushik sect and the Maitreya faith were compared with India and China to examine the characteristics of Shilla. Based on this, by analyzing the memorandum, it is revealed that the compositional background and formative thought of Danseoksan mountain stone cave are the results of harmonizing the Sangsaeng faith (上生信仰) of the Bodhisattva Maitreya Pensive Bodhisattva statue and the Hasaeng faith (下生信仰) of the Maitreya Buddha.
Second, the iconography characteristics of Danseoksan mountain stone cave Maitreya Buddha statues were divided into Maitreya Buddha Triad Statue and Bodhisattva Maitreya Pensive Bodhisattva statue groups, and the iconography characteristics were revealed.
Third, the stylistic characteristics and chronology of Danseoksan mountain stone cave Buddha statues were examined. It is revealed that the stylistic characteristics are that the Maitreya Buddha statue is in a child form (童形) Aegihyeong Buddha image style with quadri‐proportioned, with strong and strong features, and the Pensive Bodhisatva statue was found to be elegant and sophisticated. Based on this, it could be revealed that the Buddha statues of the Danseoksan mountain stone cave were created around the 4th quarter (575‐600) of the 6th century.
Fourth, it could be revealed that the Danseoksan mountain stone cave structure was made of a 10m stone cave made of rock face on a ㄷ‐shaped flat with a wooden roof with a majestic stone cave that built an entrance to the west.
Fifth, the Danseoksan mountain stone cave and Maitraya images are the most magnificent stone caves, especially Shilla, during the Three Kingdoms period, and the Maitreya Buddha statue is also an ancient Shilla mega masterpiece, and the Pensive Bodhisattva statue has an elegant and sophisticated style that almost matches the National Treasure No. 83 Pensive Bodhisattva statue, and so therefore, this, too, can be said to be regarded as a great masterpiece.
