청소년의 인권의식과 문화지능과의 관계 탐색 (Exploring the Relationship between Human Rights Consciousness and Cultural Intelligence of Adolescents)

초록

본 논문의 목적은 청소년의 문화지능을 향상시키는 데 있어서 인권의식이 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 알아보는 것이다. 연구 대상은 안산시 소재 고등학교 1개교와 중학교 1개교 학생 240명을 설문조사하 였고 최종 분석은 200명에 대해 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과와 그에 따른 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 전체적인 인권의식은 보통 수준으로 인권의식의 하위요소 중에서 인권판단력이 가장 높았고 그 다음은 인권감수성, 인권행동의사 순으로 나타났다. 또한 청소년의 전체적인 문화지능도 보통 수준 이나 선행연구와 비교 시, 약간 낮게 나타났으며 문화지능의 하위요소 중에서 행동적 CQ가 가장 높았 고 그 다음은 초인지적, 동기적, 인지적 CQ순이었다. 둘째, 문화지능은 중학생이 고등학생보다 높았으 며 학업 성적이 좋을수록, 가정형편이 어려울수록, 다문화학생과 접촉한 경험이 많을수록, 다문화교육 과 인권교육의 경험이 많을수록 문화지능이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 청소년의 전체적인 인권의식과 문화 지능과의 관계는 정적 상관관계이며, 인권의식의 하위요소별로도 문화지능과 정적 상관관계를 나타냈 다. 즉, 인권의식과 다문화역량으로서의 문화지능 간에는 밀접한 관련이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 특히, 인권행동의사를 높일수록 문화지능이 높아질 수 있다는 것을 예측할 수 있었다. 넷째, 청소년의 인권 의식이 문화지능에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 문화지능의 하위요소인 초인지적, 인지 적, 동기적, 행동적 CQ 각각에 대하여 공통적으로 인권행동의사가 높은 수준의 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연 구의 결과는 인권의식이 세계화·다문화사회에서 필요한 문화지능을 높일 수 있는 변인으로 확인된 만 큼 인권친화적 문화지능이 개발되어서 청소년들에게 통합적인 교육으로 주어진다면 이들이 보다 긍정 적인 사회변화를 이끌어내는 국가 성장 동력으로 성장할 수 있게 되리라 본다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of human rights consciousness on improving the cultural intelligence of adolescents. The subjects of this study were 240 students ,in one high school and one middle school in Ansan-city, who had been sampled and the final questionnaire included 200 students.
The main findings and implications are as follows. First, the overall human rights consciousness of adolescents was normal. Among the sub-factors of human rights consciousness, human rights judgment was the highest, followed by human rights susceptibility and human rights behavior. In addition, the overall cultural intelligence of adolescents was moderate, but slightly lower than that of the previous studies. Behavioral CQ was the highest among the sub-elements of cultural intelligence, followed by Mega-cognitive CQ, Motivational CQ and cognitive CQ.
Second, cultural intelligence was higher in middle school students than in high school students. The more students had better academic performance, the worse the family situation, the more contact with multicultural students, the more experience of multicultural education and human rights education then, students had the higher the cultural intelligence.
Third, the relationship between the overall human rights consciousness and cultural intelligence of adolescents is a static correlation, and the subcategories of human rights consciousness also have a positive correlation with cultural intelligence. There is a close relationship between human rights consciousness and cultural intelligence as a multicultural competency. In particular, the study was predicted that the higher the will to act human rights, the higher the cultural intelligence.
Fourth, the human rights consciousness of adolescents has significant influence on cultural intelligence. Commonly, human rights behavior has a high impact on the subcategories of cultural intelligence, ie, Mega-cognitive CQ, Cognitive CQ, Motivational CQ and Behavioral CQ.
The results of this study show that human rights consciousness has been identified as a factor that can enhance the cultural intelligence needed in globalization and multicultural society. Therefore, if human rights friendly cultural intelligence is developed and integrated education is provided to adolescents, they will be able to grow as a national growth engine that leads to positive social change.
