대학원생의 상담자 경험에 관한 질적연구: CQR 중심으로 (The Qualitative Study on the Counselor Experience of Graduate Students: Centered on CQR)

초록

목적 본 연구는 S대학원에 재학중인 석, 박사생들의 상담 경험에 관하여 탐색하는 것으로써 이들의 상담 경험의 의미와 상담자적 발전 그리고 이들의 상담자적 역량에 관하여 연구하기 위한 것이다.
방법 이를 위하여 S대학원에 재학 중인 석, 박사 21명을 대상으로 질적 연구 방법에서 자료를 수집하기 위하여 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 합의적 질적 연구(CQR) 방법을 활용하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 이후 Hill이 개발한 CQR 기법을 적용하여 이를 분석하였다. 반구조화 된 면접과 개방형 질문을 통해 참여자들의 다양한 의견과 반응을 유도하였고, 연구팀과 외부 감수자의 협업을 통해 자료 분석 및 해석 과정에 여러 시각을 반영하여 객관성을 더욱 강화하였다. 이러한 접근은 연구 결과의 신뢰성을 높이는 데 기여하였다.
결과 연구 참여자들로부터 수집한 인터뷰 자료를 분석한 결과 4개의 중심 영역을 구성하였다. 그리고 중심 영역을 구성하기 위해 먼저, 의미있는 개념 461개를 찾아내었고, 의미 있는 개념들을 모아서 20개의 핵심 개념을 도출하였다. 그리고 핵심 개념들을 분류하여 9개의 범주를 도출하였다. 그리하여 연구 참여자들의 상담자적 초심으로는 내담자들에 대한 수용적 마음을 기본으로 가지고 있으면서 문제 해결 의욕이 앞서 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 그리고 이들은 상담자의 역할에서 경청, 공감, 심리적 질문, 가설 설정과 상담의 방향성을 갖는 것에는 유익한 상담 경험인 것으로 드러났다. 이로써 이들은 상담자적 전문성의 발전을 경험하기도 하였다. 하지만 이런 경험으로 인하여 상담자적 역량의 부족과 보완이 절실히 필요함을 인식하는 계기가 되었다.
결론 연구 참여자들은 상담 경험을 통하여 상담자로서의 유익한 경험을 하여 상담 기법을 활용하는 경험을 하였고, 상담자적 전문성에 대한 욕구와 더불어 상담자로서의 발전을 경험하기도 하였다. 그리고 전문 상담자가 되기 위하여 상담자의 경험과 상담자적 역량의 중요성과 필요성을 인식하는 계기가 되어 전문 상담자의 길을 준비하는 것에 유익한 경험과 자극을 받는 계기가 되었다.

영어초록

Objectives By exploring the counseling experiences of master and doctoral students attending S Graduate School, this study aims to study the meaning of their counseling experiences, the development of counselors, and their counseling competence.
Methods To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with 21 masters and doctors enrolled in S graduate school to collect data from qualitative research methods. Data were collected using the consensus qualitative research (CQR) method, and then analyzed by applying the CQR technique developed by Hill. Various opinions and reactions of participants were induced through semi-structured interviews and open-ended questions, and objectivity was further strengthened by reflecting various perspectives in the data analysis and interpretation process through collaboration between the research team and external auditors. This approach contributed to increasing the reliability of the research results.
Results As a result of analyzing the interview data collected from the study participants, four central areas were composed. And in order to construct the central area, first, 461 meaningful concepts were found, and 20 core concepts were derived by collecting meaningful concepts. And by classifying core concepts, 9 categories were derived. Therefore, it was analyzed that the study participants' willingness to solve problems was ahead of them while having a receptive mind to clients as a counselor's initial intention. And it turned out that they are beneficial counseling experiences to have a direction of listening, empathy, psychological questions, hypothesis setting, and counseling in the role of a counselor. As a result, they also experienced the development of counselor-specific expertise. However, this experience served as an opportunity to recognize the lack of counselor competency and the urgent need to be supplemented.
Conclusions Participants in the study experienced using counseling techniques through beneficial experiences as counselors, and they also experienced the development of counselors along with their desire for counseling expertise. In order to become a professional counselor, it became an opportunity to recognize the importance and necessity of the counselor's experience and the counselor's competence, and it was an opportunity to receive useful experiences and stimulations in preparing the path of a professional counselor.
