초록

러시아 현대 문학사, 특히 문예론의 발전에 있어 20세기 초반은 가장 생산적이면서도 전례 없이 다양하고 풍요로운 실험의 시기로 기록된다. 세기 전환기를 거치면서 절대성의 파기와 함께 시작된 20세기 러시아 문학은 자연히 예술의식의 변화와 함께 문학적 시각의 변화, 미학체계의 혁신 등을 요구 받게 되었고, 이는 새로운 세계관을 예술 창작에 구현하려는 문학적 선언과 대안적 미학 이론의 탐색, 다양한 시학의 발전으로 이어졌다. 이러한 시대적 요구는 20세기 초 러시아 산문문학에도 반영되어, 이 시기 러시아 산문은 다양한 문학적·미학적 실험과 이론화 작업을 통해 다원론적 시학의 토양을 더욱 비옥하게 했다. 형식주의를 위시하여 다양한 문학연구의 치열한 문학적 논의가 전개된 이 시기, 이전 리얼리즘 문학과 뚜렷이 구별되는 미학적 특징과 새로운 시대상을 반영한 실험 시학적 지향의 흐름이 있었으니, ‘네오리얼리즘’이라는 용어로 정의된 산문창작의 분명한 경향이다.
오래도록 러시아 문학연구 범위에서 사라져 있었으나 최근 다시 활발히 연구되고 있는 러시아 네오리얼리즘은 공식화된 사조로 존재하지는 않았지만, 새로운 세계관을 반영한 산문창작의 원칙을 맹렬히 실험하고 탐구하며 1920년대 정점을 이룬 미학원칙이다. ‘현실에 대한 문학의 미학적 사명’을 혁신하고자 한 네오리얼리즘의 시학은 상대주의적 시각, 복수적 시점, 서사의 파편화, 양식화된 장식적 문체, 보여주기 서술 등의 다양한 기법을 실험하면서 작품에 구현했으며, 이는 20세기 초 러시아 문학장의 다원론적 시학 구조를 더욱 풍요롭게 했을 뿐만 아니라, 문학의 과학화를 표방한 동시대 형식주의 문학론과도 친연성을 가진다.
예술 지상주의적 모더니즘의 실험에서 상실된 ‘현실’과 ‘인간’에 대한, 존재하는 그대로의 세계를 복원하고 평범하고 꾸며내지 않은 일상 그 자체를 문학 속에 구현하고자 한 러시아 네오리얼리즘의 미학은 실존적 사물을 인식하고 인간의 실제적 지각 방식을 문학 속에 구현하고자 한 ‘인간적인, 너무도 인간적인’ 문학적 탐색이었다.

영어초록

The beginning of the 20th Century is a remarkable period of the tremendously various and productive experiments that had never been before in terms of the development of the history of modern Russian literature, especially science of literature. Going through the transition period of century and beginning with the breakup of absolutism, the Russian literature in the 20th Century naturally faced the need of changes of literary view and revolutions of system of esthetics in accordance with changes in the understanding of arts. These movements consequently led to the literary proclamation that was going to apply new points of world view to artistic creation, exploration of substitute theory of esthetics, and development of various poetics. These demands of the times were affected on Russian prose in the beginning of the 20th Century therefore, Russian prose at this time fertilized the literary field of poetic pluralism through different esthetical experiments and their theorization. At these times of development in tumultuous discussion about diverse studies on literature like Formalism in the leads, there was a distinct trend of experimental poetics reflecting new phases of times and showing esthetics features that was clearly differentiated from previous Realism literature which was defined as Neorealism.
Having disappeared long in the scopes of Russian literature, studies on Russian Neorealism are actively revived in recent years. Even though it was not declared as a formal literary trend, it was a literary theory that reached peak in 1920s as it enthusiastically experimented and explored principles of prose, reflecting new world views. Neorealism prose that attempted the innovation of “esthetic mission of literature for the reality” studied and accomplished various techniques such as relativistic viewpoint, plural point of view, fragmentation of narratives, stylization and ornamentation of styles, narrative for showing. It did not induce only the structure of poetic pluralism in literary field of the beginning of 20th Century in Russia, but also it had affinity with formalism theory of literature which claimed the scientification of literature at the same time.
Attempting to restore the world as it exists and to realize life and humans themselves as plain and natural beings in literature which were lost in the experiment of modernism, art for art’s sake, the esthetic of Russian Neorealism was a literary exploration that was ‘humanistic, so humanistic one,’ acknowledging the existential object through lively images and the avant-garde in life and art and seeking the way of human awareness of the form of literature.
