음악 기악교육 관련 유튜브(YouTube) 콘텐츠 현황 분석 (Analysis of the Current Status of YouTube Contents Related to Instrumental Music Education)

초록

본 연구는 코로나19로 인해 대면(오프라인) 실기교육이 어려운 상황에서 온라인(비대면) 기악교육 관련 유튜브 채널과 콘텐츠 분석을 통해 유튜브가 지닌 교육매체로서의 가능성을 살펴봄으로써 지속되는 포스트 코로나 시기에도 효율적인 기악교육을 위한 기초연구를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 음악실기 기악 장르를 주제로 72개 채널을 연구대상으로 하였으며, 악기 장르, 콘텐츠 내용, 재생 시간 및 길이, 콘텐츠 조 회수와 채널 생성 기간, 그리고 콘텐츠의 질적수준을 분석하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 악기 장르 는 피아노, 현악기(바이올린, 첼로), 관악기(플루트, 클라리넷, 색소폰, 트럼펫, 트롬본), 타악기, 학교 악기(리 코더, 우클렐레)가 분석되었으며, 비올라, 콘트라베이스, 오보에, 바순, 호른, 튜바를 콘텐츠로 제공하는 채널 은 매우 적은 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 콘텐츠 내용은 악기지도(Lesson), 커버영상(Cover Video & Ost), 음악이론(Music Theory), 공연(Music Performance), 악기보관 및 수리(Instrument Maintenance), 연 습곡 연주(Etude Performance)를 주로 다루고 있었다. 셋째, 49개(68%)의 채널들이 제공하는 콘텐츠의 길이는 10분 미만의 영상들이 가장 많았으며, 영상의 질적수준 분석은 자막, 해설, 악보설명, 반복연습, 연주 자세 클로즈업과 같이 학습자들이 필요로 하는 내용들도 대체적으로 포함되어 있었다. 마지막으로, 다수의 채널이 2010년전부터 콘텐츠를 꾸준히 제공하고 있었으며, 코로나19가 시작된 이후에 생성된 채널들은 모 두 12개(16.7%)로 조사되었다. 앞으로 우리사회가 코로나 일상(with Corona)으로 전환되더라도 여전히 대 면 형태의 기악교육이 이루어지기 어려운 상황에 직면하게 될 것이므로 유튜브를 통해 전문적인 기악교육 콘 텐츠 개발이 지속적으로 이루어진다면 기악교육에 효과적인 기여를 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영어초록

This study examines the potential of YouTube as an educational medium through online in- strumental music education-related YouTube channels and content analysis in a situation where face-to-face practical education is difficult due to COVID-19, and provides basic research for effec- tive instrumental music education even in the continuing post-coronavirus period. For this purpose, 72 channels were studied under the theme of instrumental music education and analyzed by musical instrument genre, educational content, content length, content views, channel creation period, and quality level of content. The results are as follows. First, piano, string instruments(violin, cello), wind instruments(flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone), percussion, and school instru- ments(recorder, ukulele) were analyzed, but there were very few channels providing contents related to instrumental music education about viola, contrabass, oboe, bassoon, horn and tuba. Second, the education contents of 72 channels include Lesson, Cover Video & Ost, Music Theory, Music Performance, Instrument Maintenance, and Etude. Performance was included. Third, the length of the content provided by 49 (68%) channels was less than 10 minutes the most, and the qualitative level analysis of the videos required learners need such as subtitles, commentary, sheet music explanation, repeated practice, and close-up of a performance posture were generally included. Finally, a number of channels have been providing content since 2010, and 12 (16.7%) of new channels created after the onset of Corona 19 were surveyed. It is very difficult to teach instrumental music with students in a situation where COVID-19 continues to mutate without ending and the level of social distancing is getting higher. Various YouTube channels related to instrumental music education are channels that have produced content for a long period of time rather than growing rapidly during the corona period. If the development of professional and educational content continues in a situation where face-to-face instrumental music education is difficult as it is now, it is expected that YouTube will develop as an alternative to face-to-face instrumental music education in terms of education.
