장애 영⋅유아 음악 활동 연구 동향 분석 (Analysis of research trends in music activity for disabled infants and toddlers)

초록

목적 본 연구는 장애 영⋅유아의 음악 활동 관련 연구의 동향 분석을 통해, 유아교육 분야에서 장애 영⋅유아를 위한 음악 활동의나아갈 방향을 제시하고자 하였다.
방법 이를 위해 한국교육학술정보원(RISS)에 등재된 국내 석⋅박사 학위논문과 학술논문을 연구 대상으로 ‘장애’, ‘유아’, ‘영아’, ‘발달지연’, ‘음악’ 이라는 키워드를 중심으로 논문을 검색하였다. 그 결과 1987년부터 2020년까지 연구된 학위논문 47편, 학술지논문 44편, 총 91편을 선정하였으며 선행 연구 준거 구안의 과정을 거쳐 연구 시기, 연구 유형, 연구 대상, 연구 목적, 연구 주체에따라 분석하였다.
결과 연구결과 장애 영⋅유아 음악 활동 연구는 2006~2010년 사이 가장 활발히 연구되었으며 점차 줄어드는 추세이다. 연구 유형에 따른 동향은 ‘양적연구’가 가장 많이 이루어졌고 ‘질적연구’는 소수에 불과했다. 연구 대상은 ‘장애유아’가 가장 많았으며 연구 목적으로는 ‘음악 활동 및 프로그램 효과’, ‘음악 치료 효과’ 등의 실험 연구가 가장 활발히 이루어졌다. 학위논문의 연구 주체로는 ‘음악치료’ 전공이 가장 많고 ‘유아교육’ 전공자의 논문은 전혀 없었으며 수여기관으로는 ‘교육대학원’이 가장 많았다. 학술지 발행기관의경우 ‘특수’ 관련 연구 기관의 논문이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났다.
결론 장애 영유아 음악 활동 연구의 경우 음악, 음악치료, 특수교육, 유아교육 등의 학문 간 협업과 융합이 필요하며, 일상생활과단절된 양적-실험연구에서 벗어나 통합환경에서의 질적연구 등 다양한 연구 유형으로의 전환이 필요하다. 통합교육환경에서 담임을 맡고 있는 유아교사가 특수교사나 음악치료사에게 의존하여 음악활동을 하는 교육의 ‘객체’나 ‘관찰자’로 머무를 것이 아니라 ‘실천적 참여자’이자 ‘협력자’로서 전문성을 높이기 위한 관심과 노력 또한 필요하다. 본 논문은 장애 영⋅유아의 음악 활동과 관련된연구들의 동향 분석을 통해 그동안 유아교육 분야에서 연구가 다소 미흡했던 장애 영⋅유아를 위한 음악 활동의 나아갈 방향을 제시했다는 데에 연구의 의의가 있다.

영어초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is providing a direction for music activities for disabled infants and toddlers in the field of early childhood education through by analyzing trends in music activities related to disabled infants and toddlers.
Methods For this purpose, domestic master's and doctorate papers and academic papers listed in the Korea Educational Research Information Service (RISS) were selected for research, focusing on keywords such as ‘disability’, ‘infant’, ‘toddler’, ‘early childhood’, ‘delayed development’, and ‘music’. As a result, 47 degree papers and 44 academic journal papers studied from 1987 to 2020, and a total of 91 articles were analyzed according to the research period, research type, research object, research purpose, and research subject.
Results According to this analysis, the study of music activities for disabled infants and toddlers had been most actively studied between 2006 and 2010, and it is gradually declined. Quantitative research was the most common trend in the research type, and qualitative research was only a few. The most frequently research object was disabled infants and the most frequently research purpose were experimental studies such as music activities, program effects and music therapy effects. Among the research subjects of the dissertation, music therapy major was the most but there were no papers of early childhood education major. Graduate schools of education had the largest number of degree-giving institutions. In the case of academic journal publishing institutions, papers related to ‘special’ were the most common.
Conclusions In the case of music activities for disabled infants and toddlers, interdisciplinary collaboration and convergence such as music, music therapy, special education, and early childhood education are needed, and various research types such as qualitative research in an integrated environment are needed. Early childhood teachers should also pay more attention and effort to increase their expertise as “practical participants” and “cooperators” rather than “objects” or “observants” of education that rely on special teachers or music therapists for music activities in an integrated educational environment. This study is meaningful in that it provided a direction to move forward with music activities for disabled infants and toddlers, which had been somewhat in sufficient in the field of early childhood education.
