Research on the Performance Evaluation of Hebei Bank based on Factor Analysis

초록

[Purpose] The Bank of Hebei is a regional bank, which is a very important link in the financial system of Hebei Province, China. This paper takes the Bank of Hebei as the research object and evaluates the operating performance of the Bank of Hebei in combination with other 24 banks, so as to understand its operating performance level and existing problems, and help it adopt corresponding measures to improve the bank’s operation and management, improve its financial status and enhance the level of profitability.
[Methodology] This paper has applied the empirical analysis of bank performance evaluation. The factor analysis selected 11 data indicators from the risk control, profit, capital accumulation, and liquidity ability, which cover the main factors of bank performance evaluation. Through the factor analysis, we have found out data indicators that have a greater impact on the performance of the bank, and then tried to improve the bank’s operation. The data used in the empirical part came from the annual reports and financial abstracts of each bank in 2019, and the data analysis and research were carried out through SPSS23 software.
[Findings] The analysis showed that, among the four factors, the Hebei Bank ranked ahead of most of 25 banks in the liquidity and risk control ability, whereas the bank remained in the lower ranks. The research results implies the improvement of the liquidity and risk control ability and can improve the operating performance and the competitiveness of the bank.
[Implications] Through empirical analysis, we can conclude that the risk control and liquidity are the key factors to improve the overall competitiveness of the Bank of Hebei. The Bank of Hebei should strengthen the risk control and liquidity ability to improve the comprehensive competitiveness of the bank and to find a road suitable for the long－term development of the Bank of Hebei.
