언택트 시대 전시컨벤션 변화 양상과 온라인 전시회 사례 연구 (Changes in Exhibition and Convention in the era of Untact and Online Exhibition Case Study)

초록

감염병의 확산 방지를 위한 비대면은 우리 삶의 일부가 되었고, 대면을 속성으로 하는 전시컨벤션 산업은 새로운 길을 모색할 수밖에 없는 상황에 이르렀다. 전시컨벤션 산업은 이러한 위기 상황과 언택트의 트렌드에 빠르게 대처하고자 다각적인 노력을 시도하고 있다.
본 연구는 COVID-19의 확산에 따른 언택트 시대에 전시컨벤션의 현재를 진단하고, 미래의 변화와 대응에 관한 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위한 연구방법으로 기초 문헌과 언론 보도자료 및 실제 온라인으로 개최된 전시회를 사례로 분석하였다. 오프라인에서 전시컨벤션이 개최되지 못하자 대안으로 온라인 전시회가 등장하였고, 온라인 전시회는 오프라인 전시회의 모든 것을 온라인상에 구현할 수 있어야 한다는 기본적인 인식에서 출발하였다. 이러한 인식하에 언택트 시대를 헤쳐나가기 위한 수단으로써 온라인 전시회의 구성요소를 사례를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 분석 결과 온라인 전시회가 제대로 구현되기 위해서는 이미지 구현 기능, 검색 기능, 실시간 연결 기능, 부대행사 기능, 데이터 수집 및 분석 기능의 다섯 가지가 필수적인 구성요소이자 기능으로 도출되었다.
온라인 전시회의 미래와 관련하여, COVID-19의 상황과 사회 변화에 따라 달라질 수 있겠지만 오프라인 전시회의 대체재보다는 보완재일 가능성이 조금 더 클 것으로 예상된다. 향후 그 비중은 달라질 수 있으나, 현 상황에서 오프라인의 영향력은 당분간 지속할 것으로 생각된다. 따라서 온라인 전시회는 오프라인 전시회와 병행하며 보완할 수 있는 역할이자, 오프라인 전시회를 활성화하고 발전시키는 수단으로 활용될 필요가 있다.

Non-face-to-face(Untact) to prevent the spread of infectious diseases has become a part of our lives, and the exhibition and convention industry, which is based on face-to-face, has come to a situation where it has no choice but to seek new ways. The exhibition and convention industry is trying to make various efforts to quickly cope with these crises and the trend of ‘Untact’.
This study aims to diagnose the present state of exhibition and convention in the era of untact with the spread of COVID-19, and to provide directions for future changes and responses. As a research method for this, basic literature, press releases, and actual online exhibitions were analyzed as examples. When exhibition and convention could not be held offline, online exhibitions appeared as an alternative, and online exhibitions started from the basic perception that everything in offline exhibitions should be implemented online. Under this recognition, we looked at the elements of online exhibitions as a means to get through the era of untact, focusing on examples. As a result of the analysis, for the online exhibition to be properly implemented, five essential components and functions were derived: image implementation, search function, real-time connection function, accompanying events, and data collection and analysis function.
Regarding the future of online exhibitions, it may vary depending on the situation of COVID-19 and social changes, but it is expected that it is a little more likely to be complementary goods than a substitute for offline exhibitions. The proportion may change in the future, but in the current situation, the influence of offline is expected to continue for some time. Therefore, online exhibitions need to be used as a means to revitalize and develop offline exhibitions as well as a role that can be supplemented in parallel with offline exhibitions.
