광의의 루마니아어 방언 연구 (A Study on the Romanian Varieties)

초록

광의의 루마니아어 방언들은 크게 두 가지로 구분된다, 즉 하나는 다뉴브 강 이북지역에 존재하는 북다뉴브 방언과 다른 하나는 다뉴브 강을 경계로 하여 그 이남지역에서 사용되고 있는 남다뉴브 방언이다. 북다뉴브 방언에는 현재 루마니아영토와 몰다비아 공화국에서 사용되고 있는 다코루마니아어 및 현재 크로아티아 공화국의 한 조그만 반도인 이스트리아의 일부 지역에서 산발적으로 사용되고 있는 이스트로루마니아어를 들 수 있다. 남다뉴브 방언으론 다코루마니아어를 제외하곤 방언들 중에서 사용인구가 가장 많은 방언으로서 일명 마케도루마니아어로도 불려지고 있는 아루마니아어가 있으며 다른 하나는 그리스와 마케도니아의 접경지대에 놓여 있는 메글렌지역, 특히 살로니카의 북부지방을 중심으로 하여 사용되고 있는 메글레노루마니아어가 존재한다. 그러나 이 광의의 루마니아어 방언들은 상당부분 공통적인 요소들을 지니고 있는 것으로 미루어보아 이들이 분리되기 이전에는 발칸지역 일대에서 단일적인 언어인 루마니아어 공통조어가 사용되었다는 의견이 중론이다. 다코루마니아어는 현재 주로 루마니아의 영토에서 국어로 사용되고 있는 언어로서 광의의 루마니아어 방언들 중에서 유일하게 문어체를 사용하고 있다. 아루마니아어는 다뉴브 강 이남의 발칸반도에 폭넓게 사용되고 있지만 주로 그리스의 북부지방과 마케도니아 및 알바니아의 일부 지역에서 사용되고 있다. 아루마니아어의 발음상 두드러진 특성으론 접두사 a­ 의 사용을 들 수 있다. 메글레노루마니아어는 그리스와 마케도니아의 메글렌 지역 중에서도 특히 살로니카의 북부지방에서 구사되고 있으며 상당부분 아루마니아어와 유사한 면을 보이고 있다. 이스트로루마니아어는 크로아티아의 이스트리아반도 내의 Muntele Mare(이탈리아어 Monte Maggiore, 크로아티아어 Uĉka Gora) 산을 경계로 북쪽에 위치한 Cicearie(크로아티아어 Ĉićarija) 지역 중에서도 오늘날 주로 Susńeviţa(이탈리아어 Frascati) 와 Noselo(이탈리아어 Villanova) 등지에서만 구사되고 있으며, 이스트로루마니아어를 구사하는 인구가 점점 줄어들고 있는 것으로 알려지고 있다.

영어초록

This article aims at a diachronic study on the Romanian varieties which is regarded as a fundamental problem for the evolution of Romanian.
From the viewpoint of dialectology, the Romanian language, which is now spoken in the Repuclic of Romania, is considered as a kind of variety, Daco-Romanian, so named because it is related to the Roman province of Dacia. However, there exist more three Romanian varieties like Aromanian(also called Macedo-Romanian), Megleno-Romanian and Istro-Romanian which are used in the outside of Romanian territory. All of these four varieties have the same common origin called by some Romanian scholars with the terms such as the primitive Romanian, the primitive common Romanian, the proto Romanian, the common Romanian etc. Under such historical and linguistic circumstances at that time, the common Romanian as a kind of Balkan Romance must have been spoken over a vast teritory north and south of the Danube. Due to the invasion of the Slavic peoples in the Balkans and Carpathians area, the population which spoke the common Romanian language split into two main branches, namely the North-Danubian(Daco-Romanian and Istro-Romanian) and the South-Danubian(Aromanian and Megleno-Romanian). Mass dislocation took place southwards in the beginning of the 9th century to the Pindus Mountains and Thessaly. These are the Aromanians and Megleno -Romanians whom the Greeks called ‘kutsvlahi’ and the Serbians ‘tsintsari’ etc. In this respect one can agree with the Romanian linguist Capidan and Puşcariu who asserted that the South-Danubian groups separated between the 9th and 10th century from their northern sisters after the crystallization of common Romanian but before the Hungarian influence in Romanian because the South-Danubian Romanian dialects do not contain any elements of Hungarian origin. As far as Istro-Romanian is concerned, it is usually agreed that the Istro-Romanians began to separate around the 13th century from their brothers, the Daco-Romanians a little later than South-Danubian brothers.
In a word, one can define that from the viewpoint of the linguistic aspects, all of the four Romanian varieties preserve most of the features of the common Romanian with some elements influenced and borrowed from the languages of Balkan areas with which they came into contact in the course of many centuries.
