조선시대 어진을 활용한 융합교육 안 개발연구 - 미술영재 대상으로 - (A Study on the Development of a Convergence Education Plan by Utilizing the Royal Portraits of Kings in the Joseon Dynasty - for the Gifted in Art -)

초록

왕의 초상인 어진은 왕실을 상징하던 그림으로, 높은 역사적⋅회화적 가치를 지니고있으나 이를 활용한 체계적인 교육 프로그램에 대한 연구나 적용 사례가 미비한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 조선시대 어진을 활용하여 당시 사회에 대해 고찰하고, 사용된한국화 기법을 체득할 수 있는 역사와 회화 융합 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 융합 프로그램은 실증실험의 일환으로 S 교대 미술영재교육원 5학년 15명대상으로 일주일 1회, 4시간 프로그램을 12시간 진행하였고, 이론적 검토와 더불어효용성 검증을 통해 프로그램의 완성도를 높이고 그 확대 가능성을 모색하였다.
구체적으로는 조선시대 어진 기법과 초등 5학년 사회 교과서 역사 내용을 이용하여한국화(어진)⋅역사(사회) 융합 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하여 영재성 발현의 효용성을점검하였다. 본 연구에서는 첫째, 프로그램 개발 방향성은 영재교육의 ‘수월성’을 목표로하였다. 수월성 교육은 어진 모사 법과 전신사조 정신, 창의성, 역사 등 심화된 내용으로진행하였고, 영재 학생들의 잠재적 능력과 사고의 확장 등을 확인하였다. 둘째, 연구모형은 이론적 고찰, 선행연구, 사회 교과서, ICM(창의성 통합모형), 영재 특성 등참고하여 3단계로 구성하였고, 융합 프로그램에 적용시켰다. 셋째, 전문가 20명을 대상으로 한 설문조사에서 프로그램 구성 및 전반적 내용을 점검하였고, 그 결과 개발된융합 프로그램의 현장 사용과 영재성 발현에 대한 가능성을 확인하였다. 넷째, 융합프로그램에 대한 회기별 분석 결과 초기 단계 학생들의 참여도는 소극적이며 융합교육이해도는 부족했으나, 회기가 진행될수록 적극적으로 참여하였고, 융합교육 이해도는제고되었다. 아울러 어진 표현법을 통해 배양된 미술적 재능 향상과 어진 관련 작품감상 등을 통해 창의성 개발, 문화 정체성 정립, 미술 잠재성 발현과 깊이 있는 역사교육이해도 증가를 관찰할 수 있었다.
그 결과, 개발된 융합 프로그램은 학생들에게 적용되어 영재성 발현 효용성이 검증되었다. 아울러 어진을 활용한 융합교육 안은 평준화 틀에서 학생들의 잠재적 능력을돕기 위한 ‘수월성’ 교육에 사용 가능함도 확인하였다.

영어초록

As the paintings that symbolize the royal family, the portraits of kings have high historical and pictorial value. However, it is very rare to find some researches or applied cases of systematic education programs utilizing the portraits of kings. Thus, this study considered the society of the time by utilizing the portraits of kings in the Joseon Dynasty, and also developed a history-painting convergence program in which the used Korean painting techniques could be learnt.
As a part of empirical experiment, the developed convergence program (4 hours/session) was provided to total 15 students (Grade 5) of Gifted Art Education Center of S university of education, for total 12 hours once a week. Through the theoretical review and verification of usefulness, this study increased the completion of the program and sought for its expandability.
Concretely, this study reviewed the usefulness for expressing the giftedness by developing and applying a Korean painting (royal portraits of kings) - history (social studies) convergence program using the techniques for royal portraits of kings in the Joseon Dynasty and the historical contents of social studies textbook for Grade 5 of elementary school. In this study, first, the direction for developing the program aimed for ‘excellence’ of education for the gifted. The excellence education was composed of intensified contents such as replication method shown in the royal portraits of kings, the spirit of expressing the inner spirit through a portrait, creativity, and history, which verified the expansion of latent abilities and thinking of gifted students. Second, the research model was composed of three steps by referring to theoretical consideration, preceding researches, social studies textbook, ICM (Integrated Curriculum Model), and characteristics of the gifted, and then it was applied to the convergence program. Third, the program composition and overall contents were inspected by a survey targeting 20 experts, and as a result, this study verified the possibility of expressing the giftedness and the applicability of the developed convergence program to the field. Fourth, in the results of analyzing the convergence program in each session, even though the students’ participation was passive and their understanding of convergence education was not sufficient in the early stage, as the program was progressed more, they actively participated and their understanding of convergence education was improved. Moreover, through the appreciation of works related to the royal portraits of kings and the artistic talent improved by the expression techniques for the royal portraits of kings, they showed the development of creativity, establishment of cultural identity, expression of artistic potential, and increased in-depth understanding of history education.
As a result, this study verified the usefulness of the developed convergence program for drawing out the giftedness when it was applied to students. Moreover, this study also verified the applicability of a convergence education plan utilizing the royal portraits of kings to the ‘excellence’ education for helping the latent abilities of students within the frame of standardization.
