보육교사의 영유아 문제행동 및 행동재활에 대한 인식 (Child Care Teachers’ Awareness on Infants and Young Children’s Problematic Behaviors and Behavioral Rehabilitation)

초록

본 연구는 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 보육교사를 대상으로 영유아의 문제행동 및 행동재활에 대한 인식을 조사함으로써, 영유아기 문제행동에 대한 관심과 이해를 가지고 이에 대한 효율적인 중재 방안을 모색해 보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 G도 소재 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 보육교사 139명을 대상으로 하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS Win 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차를 알아보았다. 주요 연구결과는 첫째, 보육교사의 절반 이상이 ‘1명 이상’의 문제행동 영유아를 지도하고 있었으며, 가장 많이 보이는 문제행동은 ‘부주의․충동적 행동’이었다. 그리고 어린이집에 문제행동을 보이는 영유아가 다수 있음에도 대부분의 영유아가 행동재활 서비스를 ‘받지 않고’ 있었다. 둘째, 보육교사들이 가장 많이 접하는 장애는 ‘ADHD’이었으며, ‘정서․행동장애’가 가장 많은 문제행동을 유발한다고 응답하였다. ‘사회․정서발달’을 가장 중요한 발달영역으로 생각하고 있었으며, 영유아가 문제행동을 보이면 ‘영유아 학부모와 상담한다.’가 가장 많았으며, 영유아가 ‘공격성․폭력성 행동’을 보일 때 행동치료의 필요성을 느낀다고 하였다. 그리고 보육교사들은 행동치료 연수를 받은 경험이 거의 없었지만, 행동치료 연수에 대한 참여 욕구는 매우 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 보육교사들은 ‘문제행동의 진단․평가에 대한 이해’ 정도는 평균 2.40으로 매우 낮았으며, 특히 ‘행동발달에 관한 평가도구나 내용에 대해 알고 있다.’가 가장 낮았다. ‘문제행동 해결 방안에 대한 이해’ 정도는 평균 2.59로 낮았으며, ‘행동치료 및 교육프로그램에 대해 알고 있다.’가 가장 낮았다. ‘행동재활 서비스에 대한 이해’ 정도는 평균 2.45로 매우 낮았으며, ‘행동치료사의 자격 요건(자격증, 취득 방법 등)에 대해 알고 있다.’가 가장 낮았다.

영어초록

This study aims to comprehend problematic behaviors in infants and young children and examine efficient solutions to those behaviors by exploring awareness of child care teachers who are working in child care centers on problematic behaviors and behavioral rehabilitation. The subjects are 139 child care teachers who are currently working in a child care center located in G-do. The data was collected and analyzed using SPSS Win 21.0 program to obtain frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results are as follows. First, more than half of teachers were instructing ‘more than one’ infants and young children with problematic behaviors and the most frequently encountered problematic behavior was ‘inattention and impulsive behaviors.’ In addition, although there were many children who showed problematic behaviors, most of them ‘did not receive’ any behavioral rehabilitation service. Second, the most common disorder encountered by child care teachers was ‘ADHD’ and they replied that ‘emotional and behavioral disorder’ mostly likely causes problematic behaviors. They considered ‘social and emotional development’ is the most important developmental domain in early childhood education, and the most frequent solution to infants or young children’s behavioral problems was to ‘consult with children’s parents.’ They also indicated that they feel the need of behavior therapy when the children show ‘aggressive and violent behaviors.’ Moreover, child care teachers had little experience in behavior therapy training while they show high level of interests in participating in such training. Third, the degree of child care teachers’ ‘understanding of analysis and assessment on problematic behaviors’ was very low, M=2.40, especially in terms of ‘I am well aware of assessment tool and contents of behavioral development’ item. The mean score of ‘understanding of solutions to problematic behaviors’ was also low, M=2.59, and they showed the lowest degree of ‘understanding of behavior therapy and education programs.’ The average score regarding ‘understanding of behavioral rehabilitation service’ was very low, M=2.45, and the lowest score was ‘awareness on requirements(certificate, acquisition method, etc.) for behavior therapist certification.
