초록

이 논문은 이원, 진은영의 시를 중심으로 90년대 이후 여성시에 드러나는 몸의 감각화 방식을 살폈다. 이들 시에서 몸이 무엇을 의미하는지, 이 몸의 감각은 어떻게 운용되는지를 살피기 위해 메를로-퐁티의 논의를 라캉의 환상과 연결하여 살폈다. 메를로-퐁티에 의하면, 몸은 ‘내부(내면)의 살’과 ‘외부(세계)의 살’이 끊임없이 이어지는 원환관계 속에서 변화하는 잠재적인 것이다. 이 과정에서 중요한 역할을 하는 촉각은 새로운 감각(주체)을 만들어내는 요소로서, 라캉의 환상 이론에도 닿아 있다. 라캉의 환상 이론으로 볼 때, 메를로-퐁티의 살은 상징적 기록의 잔여이며, 이는 상징계를 움직이는 원동력이 된다. 이원, 진은영의 시에서 감각은 실재를 사유하는 하나의 방법론으로 사용되며, 그것은 빈 공백(구멍)의 지대에서 출현하는 낯선 존재의 형상으로 드러난다.
이원의 시에서 그것은 각종 기계장치나 보철물과 얽혀 있는 기계-몸으로 드러난다. 이 몸이 움직여가는 공간은 가상공간과 맞물린 무의식적 꿈의 공간으로 환기된다. 이 세계는 어떤 대상이나 현상을 시인이 몸으로 체화하여 뱉어내는 과정에서 가공된 자기 안의 풍경으로서, 상징계 내에서 텅 빈 구멍으로 존재하는 실재, 또는 언표 불가능한 타자성을 드러내기 위한 시적 장치이다. 그것은 초국가적 자본주의와 과학기술이 지배하는 시대에 경험되는 정체성의 부재와 맞물려 있다. 이 부재에서 경험되는 불안과 공포는 자아로 하여금 실재를 향해 나아가게 하지만, 구멍(죽음)으로 존재하는 실재와의 합일은 불가능하다. 이 감각은 한 감각에서 다른 감각으로 전이되는 공감각으로 드러난다. 감각의 전이를 중요시하는 공감각은 본래의 감각을 회복하지 않으며 다른 감각과 내적으로 융합되면서 연쇄의 형태로 반복된다. 이는 변화된 현실의 어떤 불길한 징후(느낌)를 표현하는 동시에 세계의 표층 아래 갇힌 타자의 불안을 감지하게 하는 역할을 담당한다.
이와 달리 진은영의 시에서 자아는 이 세계 어디에도 없는 어떤 유령-시의 음성으로 등장한다. 시의 주체는 눈동자, 입술과 같은 감각기관으로 자신을 현시하지만, 그 목소리는 누구의 것인지 모호하다. 이때 시에는 어떤 공백 지대가 만들어 진다. 이 공백은 고유한 1인칭 주체의 특권적 자리를 지운 자리이자, 상징적 언어로 기록할 수 없는 무의식의 지대이다. 이는 빈자리를 통해 자기를 실현하려는 시인의 인식을 반영한다. 이 영토를 스쳐 가는 타자들은 이 현실에서 배제되고 추방된 비(非)인칭의 타자들이자 상징적 기록의 잔여들로서, 시의 새로운 흐름을 만들어낸다. 아무 관계 없는 타자들이 서로 마주치면서 일어나는 감각은 몽타주 형식으로 병합되어 확산된다. 이러한 시의 풍경 속에 등장하는 죽은 자, 유령(영혼) 등의 무수한 별종은 시인 안에 보이지 않는 것으로 존재하는 타자들의 모습으로써, 현실의 영역에서 이루어지는 타자와의 관계를 새롭게 생각하게 한다. 이러한 두 시인의 시는 기성의 여성주의를 넘어 새로운 여성주의를 모색하는 과정을 보여준다는 점에서 소중한 의미를 가진다.

영어초록

In this study, body sensationalizing method presented in women’s poetry in the 2000s were examined by focusing on the poetry written by Lee Won and Jin Eun-yeong. To examine what the body means and how the body senses are being operated in their poetry, Merleau-Ponty’s arguments and Lacan’s reality were studied. According to Merleau-Ponty, the body has potential to change in a circular loop where ‘internal (inside) skin’ and ‘external (world) skin’ are continuously connected. As an element creating a new sense (principal agent), the tactile sense, playing an important role in this process, is linked to Lacan’s theory of illusion. According to Lacan’s theory of illusion, Merleau-Ponty’s skin is a remainder of the symbolic record and it becomes a driving force to move the Symbolic Order. The sense in the poetry written by Lee Won and Jin Eun-yeong is used as one of the methodologies that considers an actual being, and it is revealed in the form of a stranger appearing in the zone of empty gap (hole).
In Lee Won’s poetry, it is revealed as machine-body that is connected to machinery equipment and prosthetic appliance. The space, where this body is moving, evokes unconscious dream space linked to the virtual space. This world is a landscape, which has been processed during the poet’s embodiment and expression of a certain object or phenomenon, inside the poet and is a poetic device to reveal an actual being existed as an empty hole in the Symbolic Order or otherness that cannot make a statement. This is interlinked with the absence of identity being experienced in times governed by supranational capitalism and scientific technology. Anxiety and fear caused by this absence make the ego to move forward to the actual being, but it is impossible to be united with the actual being existed as a hole (death). This sense is appeared as synesthesia in which one sense is transferred to another sense. When the original sense is not recovered, the synesthesia, which regards transfer of the senses as important, is fused with the other sense internally and repeated in the form of a chain. It expresses certain portentous signs (feeling) in reality while simultaneously plays a role that perceives anxiety of others locked in a surface of the world.
On the other hand, the ego is appeared as a ghost not existed anywhere in the world-voice of poetry in Jin Eun-yeong’s poetry. The principal agent of the poetry reveals oneself as a sensory organ such as pupil or lips, but it is vague whose voice that is. At this moment, some blank zone is created in the poetry. This gap is the space where privileged position of the intrinsic first person is wiped and it is unconscious zone where cannot be recorded in symbolic language. It reflects the poet’s perception to realize herself through the empty space. Others that pass this territory are the ones who were excluded and expelled from this reality and who are remainders of the symbolic records, and they make a new flow of the poetry. The senses that occur when unrelated others meet one another are merged and spread in the form of montage. Countless distinct species such as dead or ghost (soul) appearing in this landscape of the poetry are the images of invisible others existed within the poet, and it gives a new idea of relationship with others in reality. These poetry written by the two poets have significance in that they show the ways of new feminism beyond the existing feminism.
