中部 西海岸地域 新石器時代 마을의 生計·住居方式 檢討 (Review of the Subsistence and Dwelling method at the settlement on the central west coast region in the Neolithic Age)

초록

중부 서해안지역의 신석기시대 집자리 유적을 위치와 규모에 따라 3가지 유형(Ⅰ~Ⅲ형)으로 분류한 뒤, 이들 마을유적에서 출토된 석기조합양상을 통해 각 유형별 생계·주거방식에 대해 살펴보았다.
Ⅰ형 마을유적은 대규모 마을을 이루며, 다양한 석기조합양상이 확인되어 장기 정주마을의 성격을 지닌 것으로 생각된다. 특히 출토된 석기류 중 식량가공구가 높은 비중을 차지하고 있어 많은 잉여생산물의 저장·처리를 통해 마을을 유지할 수 있었던 것으로 판단된다. Ⅱ형 마을유적도 Ⅰ형 마을유적과 마찬가지로 다양한 석기조합양상을 보이고 있어 장기 정주마을의 성격을 지닌 것으로 생각되는데, 유적의 규모에 있어 3~5기의 집자리로 구성된 소규모 마을을 이루고 있다. 그러나 출토된 석기류 중 식량채집구의 비율이 높아 상대적으로 초보적 농경과 식량채집에 중점을 둔 생계·주거방식을 영위하였던 것으로 보인다.
Ⅲ형 마을유적은 앞의 두 유형과 달리 대부분 섬 지역에 위치하며, 1~3기의 소규모 마을을 이루고 있다. 그 중에서 Ⅲ-1형 마을유적으로 분류된 집자리에서는 식량가공구에 해당하는 석기류가 편중되어 있어 장기 정주마을로 보기에는 어렵고, 단기 거주를 통해 주변지역에서 얻을 수 있는 식량자원의 처리·획득에 중점을 둔 생계·주거방식을 유지하였을 것으로 판단된다. Ⅲ-2형의 경우에는 집자리의 구조도 다른 유형의 집자리와 상이한 면을 보이며 석기조합양상도 매우 특징적인데, 특히 수렵·어로구의 집중적인 출토로 보아 특정 식료자원의 획득을 위한 장소로 단기간(계절적)의 거주 공간으로 생각해 볼 수 있다.

영어초록

This research took a look at the subsistence and dwelling method by each pattern through the combination of stone artifacts implements excavated at the settlement's relics after classifying the dwelling site relics at central coast region in the neolithic age as the three patterns[typeⅠ~Ⅲ].
It is thought that the settlement relics classified as Type One assumed the character of a long-term settlement in that type one settlement relics formed a large-scaled settlement and various aspects of the combined stone artifacts implements were found to exist.
Particularly, among the excavated series of stone artifacts implements, food processing instruments take up a high ratio, which fact enables us to believe that this sort of settlement could be sustainable one through storage and processing of a lot of surplus agricultural products. Also, type two settlement relics, similar to type one settlement ones, are thought to have a character of a long-term settlement in that they assume a variety of combined aspects of stone artifacts implements, and they formed a small-scaled settlement consisting of three to five dwelling sites.
However, food collecting implements took up a high ratio among the excavated stone artifacts implements, which fact reveals the fact the people at that time seemed to have sustained their subsistence and dwelling method focusing on rudimentary farming and food collection.
Type three settlement relics, different from the previously mentioned two patterns, was mostly located on an island area, forming a small-scaled settlement having two to three dwellings. At the dwelling site classified as type three-one settlement relics, too many sorts of food processing instrument were excavated, so it is hard to judge it was a long-term settlement but the people at that time seemed to have sustained their subsistence and dwelling method focusing on the disposal and acquisition of food resources available nearby areas during their short-term settlement.
In case of type three-two, the structure of a dwelling site shows difference from other patterns of dwelling site and the aspect of combined stone artifacts implements is found to be very characteristic; particularly, a multitude of excavations of fishing and hunting implements could give much weight on the fact that type three-one site is assumed to be a place for short-term[seasonal]dwelling for acquiring specific food resources or a limited behavioral place.
