대학생의 원격수업 참여 경험에 대한 인식 (Perception of University Students’ Experience in Distance Education)

초록

본 연구는 대학생의 원격수업 참여 경험에 대해서 살펴보고, 대학 원격수업의 설계와 운영 측면에서 개선 방향을 모색할 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하려는 목적으로 실시되었다. 이를 위해 대구, 충남에 소재한 4년제 대학 재학생 중에서 본 연구에 동의한 대학생의 자료를 온‧오프라인 형식의 개방형 설문으로 수집하였다. 최종적으로 총 52명의 자료를 활용하였으며 수정된 합의적 질적연구(Consensual Qualitative Research-Modified: CQR-M) 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 자료의 수집 기간은 2020년 6월 15일부터 7월 15일이었으며, 수집된 자료를 2020년 10월까지 3개월에 걸쳐 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 원격수업에 참여한 대학생이 인식한 수업의 만족 요소는 ‘원격수업 상황에서 학습자의 주도성 강화’, ‘원격수업 상황에서 교수자의 탄력적인 적응’의 2개 영역과 7개 상위범주, 18개의 범주가 도출되었다. 둘째, 원격수업에 참여한 대학생이 인식한 수업의 불만족 요소는 ‘원격수업 환경에서 학습자의 수동적 대처’, ‘원격수업 환경에 교수자가 탄력적으로 적응하지 못함’, ‘원격학습 지원의 기술적 문제’, ‘원격수업의 태생적 한계’의 4개 영역과 9개 상위범주, 21개의 범주가 도출되었다. 셋째, 향후 원격수업에 대한 기대와 관련하여 원격수업 전반에 대한 기대로 ‘원격학습의 적극적/효과적 활용’, ‘안정적인 원격학습 환경 지원’, ‘효과적인 원격수업 설계’의 3개의 영역과 5개 상위범주, 9개 범주가 도출되었다. 마지막으로 원격수업에서 평가와 관련된 기대로 ‘내실 있는 평가방식에 대한 기대’, ‘공정한 평가 실시’의 2개 영역과 4개 상위범주, 8개의 범주가 도출되었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 시사점 및 제언을 제시하였다.

영어초록

The purpose of the study was to examine university students' experience in participating in distance education and to provide basic data on how to improve in terms of the design and operation of university distance education. For this purpose, data of university students who agreed to this study among four-year university students located in Daegu and Chungnam were collected in an open-ended questionnaire in an online or offline format. Finally, data from 52 students were used and analyzed by the Consensual Qualitative Research-Modified (CQR-M) method. The data had been collected from June 15 to July 15, 2020, and were analyzed over a three-month. The results of this study are as follows. First, two areas of 'strengthening the initiative of learners in distance education situations' and 'flexible adaptation of professors in distance education situations' were derived, as well as 7 upper categories and 18 categories of satisfaction in classes recognized by university students who participated in distance education. Second, the elements of dissatisfaction with the classes recognized by the university students who participated in the distance education were derived from 4 areas: 'passive response of learners in distance education environment', 'professors are not unable to adapt flexibly to distance education environment', 'technical problems of distance education support' and 'natural limitations of distance education', as well as 9 upper categories and 21 categories. Third, the expectation for the overall distance education in the future was derived into 3 areas of 'active/effective utilization of distance education', 'stable distance education environment support', and 'effective distance education design', as well as 5 upper categories and 9 categories. Finally, expectations related to evaluation in distance education were derived into two areas of 'expectation on a substantial evaluation method' and 'conducting a fair evaluation', as well as 4 upper categories, and 8 categories. Based on these analysis results, the implications and suggestions of the research were presented.
