대학생의 정서에 따른 이미지반응 연구 (A Study to Investigate an Association between College Students' Emotions and the Images Drawn to Express the Emotions)

초록

본 연구는 대학생의 정서별 이미지에 나타나는 반응을 형식과 내용으로 분류하여, 정서와 이미지반응간에 유사성이 있는지 알아보고, 미술치료현장에서 유용하게 사용할 수 있는 객관적인 기준마련을 위한 기초연구로 수행되었다. 연구대상은 D지역 대학생 455명(남:179명, 여:276명)이었으며, 자료는 미술치료사 및 미술치료전문가자격을 소지한 검사자 5명의 도움을 받아 수집하였다. 측정도구로는 정서강도자가측정질문지와 정서별 그림시트지를 사용하였으며, 자료의 분석은 SPSS 19.0을 이용하여 빈도분석과 교차분석을 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학생의 정서에 따른 이미지형식을 빈도분석한 결과 6가지 정서(기쁨, 분노, 슬픔, 공포, 혐오, 놀람) 모두 그림과 제목이 일치하며, 구상화표현이 많았다. 기쁨은 긍정적, 분노․슬픔․공포․혐오는 부정적, 놀람은 모호한 분위기 표현이 많았다. 이미지 수는 기쁨, 분노, 공포, 혐오, 놀람에서는 1개의 표현, 슬픔은 2개의 표현이 많았으며, 공간의 사용정도는 기쁨, 분노, 공포, 놀람에서 25~50%이하, 슬픔과 혐오에서는 25%이하의 용지사용이 많았다. 둘째, 대학생의 성별에 따라 정서별 이미지형식이 관계가 있는지 알아보기 위해 교차분석을 실시한 결과 6가지 정서에서 공통적으로 이미지 수, 공간상징, 지우기에서 남녀간 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 대학생의 정서에 따라 표현한 이미지 내용으로는 사람을 많이 표현하였으며, 주로 축약되고 생략된 인물상을 나타내었다.

영어초록

This study investigated an association between college students' emotions and images drawn by them, so the findings could be used in establishing objective standards to be used when art therapy was conducted.
Participants were 455 college students (179 male and 276 female students) attending universities in Daegu and Gyeongbuk province. Data collection was assisted by 5 licensed professional art therapists. The test instruments were a self-reported questionnaire of emotional intensity and a set of sheets on which emotions were to be drawn. The frequency and crosstab analysis of the data were computed on SPSS/WIN 19.0.
First, this study found that all the titles of the emotions (pleasure, anger, sadness, fear, hate, surprise) matched the drawings, many of which were drawn in a representational style. Pleasure was expressed positively. Anger, sadness, fear, and hate were expressed negatively. Surprise was expressed in a rather ambiguous representation.
In the number of the drawn items, many of the participants drew one item to express emotions such as pleasure, anger, fear, hate, and surprise, whereas many of them drew two items to express sadness. In the use of the drawing space, many of the participants used about 20-50% of the space or below to express pleasure, anger, fear, and surprise. To express sadness and hate, many of them used 25% of the space or below.
Second, a crosstab analysis to see any association between the gender of the participants and the shapes of the drawn items showed that the 6 emotions showed gender difference in the following categories: the number of drawn items, space symbolism, and erasing. Third, many of the drawn items in the 6 emotions were humans, largely drawn in a simplified and reduced way.
