A Study on the Conversion Model of Foreign Students in Korea

초록

At the beginning of the 20th century, we started to study religion psychology about conversion, such as psychological approach, social pPsychological approach and cognitive psychological approach and behavioral psychological approach. Conversion research for those who have experienced conversion as a religious experience seems reasonable. This is because religious experience and conversion are closely related. Because conversion plays a decisive role in the personality of the person and the direction of life. There is a need to see the before and after the conversion and to study the factors and changes in life.
This study is aimed at foreign students studying in Korea. About 150,000 foreign students are studying at Korean universities. Living in Korea, what kind of circumstances did these international students start their faith life? Through what kind of process and what factors led them to conversion, I want to study what kind of changes have occurred in life after conversion. In order to know the opportunity of the faith life and the religious experience of conversion, I would like to interview foreign student with structured questions.
In Taylor's model of repentance, he emphasized only cognitive aspects to change the unfavorable beliefs that affect painful emotions or actions. And Kwon says, it is too much emphasis on cognitive aspects, then repentance model of the real Christian counseling should promote the change the intellect, emotion,and volition of counselee with mutual connections. Kwon Soo-young emphasized that the change of the counselee’s designation should be interrelated. Taylor's repentance model does not go far beyond the scheme of the sin-punishment Respectively. In other words, Taylor’s model is staying in scheme of crime and punishment.
The counselee's defense system makes systematic thinking disappear, and the client acts as a one-sided perpetrator in a linear causal framework. From a systematic point of view, the client's repentance is again helping to reconstruct the client's system by restoring interrelated object relationships. The counselee’s conversion experience plays an important role in restructuring the counselee's system.
Rambo's systematic stage model emphasizes the systematic process of conversion. Rambo 's seven – step features provide a theoretical framework that will continue to help the Christian counselor in the process of in - depth counseling and subsequent conversion of the counselee. The counselee's conversion process is a lifelong process. The systematic change of the counselee is not a one-time, progressive, or progressive linear event, but continues to systematically reconfigure. Without the process of systematic change of counselee’s conversion in clinical field, it can neither repent nor fundamentally change.
