한국 언론사의 관계 권력 구조에 대한 연구: 연고에 의한 사적 신뢰 요인을 중심으로 (A Study on Relation Power Structure of Press Organizations in Korea)

초록

.본 연구는 사회문화적 가치에 입각한 관계 형성 요인인 연고를 중심으로 한국의 지배적 언론사에 투영되어 있는 사적 관계 중심의 권력 구조를 실증적으로 분석함으로써 한국의 여론 환경에서의 비공식적 특성을 분석하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구를 위해 설정한 연구문제는 첫째, 언론사 전반에 걸쳐 나타나고 있는 연고 분포적 특성, 둘째, 방송사와 신문사에 내재한 연고 분포적 특성, 셋째, 개별 언론사 간의 연고 분포에 따른 지형상의 특징이다. 분석 대상으로는 문민정부와 국민정부 시기의 신문사(조선, 중앙, 동아, 한겨레신문사)와 방송사(KBS, MBC, SBS)의 이사진과 실무진(부장급 이상)을 선정했으며, 교차분석과 대응분석 방법을 적용하여 연구문제에서 제시한 관계 구조의 특징을 분석했다. 분석 결과, 특히 공식적 차원에서 정치적 통제로부터 자유로운 메이저 신문사의 경우 연고를 중심으로 상호 동질적 분포 특성을 가지고 있으며, 연고를 매개로 상호 담합을 통한 정치적 영향력을 행사함으로써 언론의 권력화가 가능할 수 있는 정서적 조건을 확보하고 있음을 발견할 수 있다.

영어초록

.This study raised three research topics regarding the power structure formed by personal connection in Korea. First, this study attempts to investigate the trait of personal network structure in the whole field of press organization ; and in between press section of broadcasting stations and newspaper companies ; and in each press organizations of Korea.
To answer the questions, the data concerning commissioners and executive members in daily newspaper organizations and broadcasting organizations from the Civil Government to the People's Government have been collected and analyzed. The interconnections of regional (birthplace) and educational(colleges graduated) aspect were analyzed via methods of cross analysis and correspondence analysis.
In brief, major findings of this study are as follows : First, as a result of analyzing cross-analysis of private trust factor based on regional relation, especially regional relation of Kyongsangdo has been showed that was common to commissioners and executive members in the whole field of press organization of the Civil Government era. In case of private trust factor based on college-based relationship, distribution ratio of Seoul National University (SNU) has been elevated among commissioners and executive members in the whole field of press organization of the Civil Government. Second, as a result of analyzing cross-analysis of private trust factor based on regional relation between press section of broadcasting stations and newspaper companies, there is a remarkable distance in the respect of distribution ratio. On the other hand, as a result of analyzing cross-analysis of each press organization, the distribution ratio of regional relation of Seoul-Gyeonggido and Kyongsangdo was very high with the exception of MBC and Hankyoreh newpaper. At the result of three research topics of this study, major newspaper companies (for especially, Chosun-Joongang-Donga daily newspaper) were much the same in the respect of distribution ratio of personal relationships, and these results mean that contemporary political influence has relations to the press power structure which is strongly constructed based on the personal relations such as regions and educations.
